‘The perfect place to stay before or after a safari when visiting udawalawe. Wonderful Tree Hose Iya very clean and beautiful. Ahan and his family are great hosts, we did the safari with Shan too and had an unforgettable time! Highly recommend!!!

This stay was a great experience! The accommodation is a beautiful oasis, and the cottage was very modern and clean. Communication online was good. Leel adviced us to do an afternoon safari instead of morning. Happy we listened to him! We saw around 40 elephants, a crocodile and many other animals. The food prepared by Leels mother was the best we have had in Sri Lanka, both dinner and breakfast. Such a lovely woman! The driving that Leel arranged was in a modern, compact minivan, with belts and aircondition. Driven by his nephew in a safe manner. He picked us up in Ella, and drove us to Yala. The day after he also drove us to next location. Incredibly kind. Bring bug spray!!

Honestly, the stay at Amba Kola was one highlight of our Sri Lanka vacation. The host is very nice, supportive and welcoming. We very enjoyed the safari trip and a boat trip he organised for us. We participated at the cooking class which was very fun. The food on general was great. The place is beautiful and has great rooms. We would definitely come again and can warmly recommend to stay at Amba Kola

I was choosing accomodation in Udawalawe very carefully becouse we wanted to have a really nice time there. Luckily I ended up with Wild Lake Side becouse this place is amazing! Extremely nice and friendly owner, amazing new room with spectacular river view, delicious dinner and great safari experience. We booked safari tour here and our driver was amazing! He did a really great job and thanks to him and his experiences, we saw many animals. I recommend to book 7 hours safari. We were worried if it is not too long but it wasn't. We had enough time to just watch animals and no rush like other jeeps with 4 hours safari and also had amazing breakfast in the national park which was one of the nicest memory. We regret we didn't stay longer.

Everything! We had a wonderful stay and extended it with a day. The villa is nice with spacious bedroom and bathroom; a very nice veranda and not even five meters you can jump in the pool. The pool is long enough to swim laps. The house has a nice view on a pond. The host gives an excellent quick service with a smile. We loved the breakfast, lunch and diner, the best up to now in Sri Lanka.

The facility is one thing but the staff, the complimentary aspects, the care and attention of everyone was fantastic. From the manager, to the driver, the restaurant staff, the chefs, everybody is kind, patient, hospitable and knowledgeable about the surroundings. It is a wonderful mix of comfortable stay with facilities and immersion into nature. The one hour massage, the yoga session, the tour in the village with the local guide were all extra perks that we enjoyed thoroughly. We even asked for traditional coconut pancakes for breakfast and the chefs prepared a delicious meal every time. They shared local snippets with us about the flora, fauna and culture of the region, we visited the temple and the rice fields, the school. The manager and the staff were always attentive with our needs and questions, they drove us and picked us up from the locations. We cannot recommend the place enough, truly! It's been the highlight of our three-week Sri Lanka trip so far. It is not just an accommodation, it's a story in itself 🙏♥️

Beautifully situated, among the jungle and a garden embedded in it. We arrived quite late, but despite this they waited for us and offered us dinner! The caretaker of the facility is a very nice gentleman who cares a lot about the well-being of his guests. The guesthouse is decorated in a uniform style that matches the surroundings. Every detail is thought out. The rooms are spotlessly clean, always with a view of the jungle (some, like ours, also have a balcony). In the morning we had a delicious breakfast - fruit and a chosen form of egg. It was a sufficient portion for us. In addition, coffee / tea / juice. It was wonderful for us to wake up in such surroundings and start the day like this. Although the monkeys jumped on the roof of our building, it was an additional attraction for us. I would like to visit such places more often. Hidden gems with excellent service.

This wasn't our first stay, so we obviouly like this place. The manager Anand couldn't have been kinder. He looked after us like super VIPs. He was everywhere making sure that we were fine. A big thank you to him. We forgot a swim suit and he offered to send it by courier service to our next hotel, which he did. The hotel itself is small and not for everyone. The rooms needs a complete rework - they don't do this place justice. They are in a poor state. But the location is incredible and I hope, this will never change - please never cut ANY of the trees! This is the biggest asset- the jungle and all its noises, the beautiful light filtering through the canopy.

I had such a great experience there. The owner, Sanjaya really was so helpful. If there is any kind of problem, he will help you anytime. The room was comfortable, and nice in size, with a coffee maker and Air Conditioned as well. The bathroom has hot water. The breakfast is awesome, with many varieties of fruits, eggs, and curries. I can't even remember everything I had served on the table. The cherry on the cake, there is the POOL. Nice size, and the perfect temperature. Definitely, I enjoyed being there! The athgira was a beautiful centre to go from out safari from. The staff were so extraordinar y kind and attentive. We had got engaged 2 days before and they had arranged a suprise afternoon tea gardens followed by an exclusive rose petal and candle filled engagement dinner. We love how much of a team they are and got to know them all. Special thanks to chalani, kithamini, Chanuka, kansaka and hinusha. Couldn't recommend more

Beautiful and peaceful location with a river in the Back yard. Surrounded by greenery and forest. Lasantha and staff are warm and friendly and went above and beyond. I was leaving early morning to Horton Plains for a hike and they had a packed lunch ready for me at 4 am! The food was traditional and tasty. There are 3 cottages for accommodation with good wifi, comfortable bed and hot water.

The hotel was our best stay in Sri Lanka. The village was so beautiful, nested inside a real jungle with monkeys, birds and lizards coming to the doors. The area had two swimming pools and a restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly. Our room was really beautiful and the bathroom outside was an interesting experience. It was a great value for money, the stay exceeded my expectations.

Very friendly staff gave a warm welcome. The welcome coffee was the best time of my life. Not only that, I was surprised because the pool was so clean and beautiful. Ratnapura is a fascinating town with few concessions for the western tourist. If you have an interest in the real, gritty Sri Lanka (particularly if the gem industry has appeal) then this town will afford endless stimulation. If, on the other hand you are looking for a holiday resort with restaurants and attractions don't bother - stick to the west coast.

Let me first say how accomodating the staff was. The staff at Glenrock ensured that we were well taken care and went above and beyond with extras to ensure we were happy.  Lodging: The lodging was excellent, I slept very well in their comfortable bed and the ceiling fan with the AC was perfect.  Environment: The area and grounds offer a spectacular view from above and below, we did not want to leave, heard a few monkeys on our roof during the night. Food: The dinner was good and the breakfast was plentiful, they did not leave our side and ensured the breakfast on the river was done perfectly. They went out of their way to make us happy. Overall: My team,my wife and I loved "The Glenrock", we will stay again and stay longer next time. Thank you to the entire team

A walk into the small town of Embilipitya was always an interesting trip into real sri lankan life. Cafe's cake shops, restaurants etc - and banks/ATMs - in fact not much that you don't need. A 30mins drive to the beach going south and a 15 in drive to the national park for the elephants. To say nothing of the peacocks constantly gracing Illukawella's gardens.

Nothing much to see in Rakwana town.

Nothing much to see in Rakwana town. But the surrounding mountain areas are breathtaking. Avoid the Rakwana-Deniyaya 10-bends road as it is under heavy construction work and very difficult to travel by a car.

Amazing experience!

Amazing experience! It's a hidden gem in Sri Lanka and will cater for every type of need. You love nature but dont want to hike, this is the place to go. You want to hike in the Singharaja forest? Well this is the best place to stay. You just want to be with your loved one? Nothing can beat this place. The bunglow itself is an art in the middle of the forest, packed with memories from the past but also with all modern day amenities to make you comfortable. Above all, the staffs are exceptionally good and will ensure you have personalised experience all the time. They will know yoir need even before you notice. I woild like to thank Lasith for his exceptionally hospitality. I have been to many places but never found someone like him.

This place is one of my favorites in Sri Lanka! It was such a beautiful surprise! Calm area, very nice outdoor setting, the room was very spacious (as was the bathroom!) So let's talk details: - Food: Amazing! Home cooked food, with candlelight and the sounds of nature! - Safari: He was a very good company during my trip! We were only passing by for some business matters. But holiday wise nothing really much to see unless you're an agri culture enthusiast. Pretty close to Udawalawa National Park, so it's a good stop over for someone who wants to do Udawalawa Safari.

Where to start... We had a wonderful stay! Our host Ravidu is a very kind man, he welcomed me and my girlfriend into his family. We will forever be grateful for the special memories created there. His wife cooked us delicious traditional Sri Lankan food at night. Thank you very much ☺️ The bed is extremely comfortable and the room is spacious and very clean. It was nice to have a place to hang out on the terrace. There are many beautiful plants around the property that give it a jungle feel. We saw many tropical birds around. I 100% recommend booking a safari through Ravidu, he partners with a guide with many years of experience. The safari guide was knowledgeable about the animals and different species we saw on the safari. He was very respectful of the wildlife and drove slowly through the park unlike other jeeps..!!
