It was very central: less than 5 minutes walk to most sights in the old town. It was very quiet at night for a peaceful night’s sleep. The breakfast was excellent. We had a one bedroom apartment and it was spacious and with beautiful views of Riga Dome.

Foot shower on the beach ramp in order to get rid of the sand (very important) Very convenient bicycle rental service. Very cooperative and excellent staff Swimming pool, sauna and spa-wellness zone very clean. Excellent throughout Did not have time to enjoy "view" restaurant so leave this for a future trip.     An excellent stay in a quiet and quaint location. The restaurant is very good with a nice selection of seasonal and local foods. There also is a possibility to go for a morning swim in the heated indoor pool. In the warmer months you could also go for the swim in the pond. The staff is helpful and very accommodating. In the room we also enjoyed local herbal tea gathered by the manor's staff. For extra relaxation book the spa and the massages.

    There is spa available for day pass £25 for adult for 2.5 hours in Jurmala Spa hotel. No need to book in, walk in welcome. Excellent facilities and kids friendly lots to do. I went twice wile on my trip. Lots of lovely restaurants, bubs and shops to explore for all liking. You can have lovely walk on the beach, it has activitys available and Caffè to enjoy during and view even if it's windy.

    I like the hotel because of its location, cleanliness and customer service at the reception. I did not like the restaurant and its staff because they do not serve enough food at the breakfast even though you pay for it. If you do not go to breakfast early, you only get some leftovers. They do not bring any additional food for missing items.

    Great small town.

    Great small town. Big attractions are the castle; the forest walks for hikers; the nearby outdoor activity centre with kayaking etc; lovely restaurants and cafes - good food but not expensive. Friendly people, courteous drivers, feels very safe to stroll around.

    In march the was not much happening in the town.

    In march the was not much happening in the town. Rates Varti restaurant was cosy but the dishes were served almost cold. The lunch in the Wolmar Hotel cost only 6 euros beeing well worth it. The Olympic Casino was a strange place for gambling addicts.

Despite being almost 200 km from the seashore the city had an inspiring shore holiday feel with a great beach side island in the middle of the city. Great place to learn about the history and the origin of written Latvian language.

    Great old town - vibrant with shops restaurants, UNESCO rated heritage preserved. We took tram to new library across the river which is an impressive building, also with an exhibit on design by Latvian- American architect. We took tram to Art Nouveau museum and self guided walking tour of the buildings in that area as well as embassy row. Largest amount of Art Nouveau buildings in the world. Day trip by train to Kemeri and Jurmal was worthwhile!
