The buffet breakfast was plentiful. The chef did an excellent job grilling the fish from our sunset fishing trip for our dinner - it was delicious! Best meal of our week.

The hotel is on the beach and only a couple of minutes walk to the bikini beach.
The food was good, breakfast and evening meal was slightly different every day. All of the staff provided quick service and kept an eye if you ever needed anything.

Would be hard to top up this holiday...
We stayed 2 days in a Deluxe Beach Pool Villa and 5 in a Beach Villa. The DBPL is amazing. BV needs renovation but is good value for money for the Maldives.
The house reef is excellent and the water around the island is pristine! We suggest going near the Italian restaurant to snorkel - we got to swim with reef sharks and many other big fish! They also offer a variety of excursions - we went to the Big Game Adventure Snorkelling, Sunset Fishing and Semi Submarine. The first one includes swimming with whale sharks, turtles and manta rays. incredible. The Sunset Fishing was also lots of fun - whatever you catch they also cook for you for free. The Semi Submarine is also an excellent way to explore the depths of the house reef.
And finally, the staff... There are no words to describe how amazing the staff at this place is. There are some people we'd like to name because they helped make our holiday unforgettable.
Starting off with Karthik who is one of the waiters in the coffee shop. This guy went above and beyond for us and helped massively with my partner's proposal, and on many other occasions. He's genuinely an extremely nice guy who would make sure you have everything you need and more :)
Continuing with the guys from the coffee shop - we have Abigail and Jeremy who are the duet performing over there most nights. These guys are super talented and down to earth. They bring a lot of joy and genuinely just a great vibe to the place. Kudos. We also have Ijas who is another waiter there, always cheerful and polite.
Moving on to Ibrahim who is a chef at the main restaurant - my fiancé is allergic to garlic (weird, yes) and he went out of his way to make sure he had delicious food to eat at every meal.
All the guys from the Watersport centre were great as well!
And finally, our housekeeper Elias who took good care of us during our stay and made sure our room was always clean and tidy.

Location: The journey itself is part of the magic—just a 20-minute scenic seaplane flight followed by a short 5-10 minute boat ride that transports you to this paradise.
The Island: Small, serene, and breathtakingly beautiful, Kandolhu is the epitome of a private island retreat.
The Resort: Thoughtfully designed with just 30 villas, the property balances exclusivity and comfort. It offers five outstanding restaurants, a stylish bar, a well-equipped gym, a serene spa, and a sea activities center—ensuring that every guest finds their own perfect way to unwind.
Our Villa: We chose an overwater villa, and it exceeded all expectations. With a private pool and direct sea access, it provided the perfect blend of luxury and tranquillity.
Staff & Service: The essence of true hospitality is mastered here. The team anticipated our needs before we even realized them, creating a seamless, highly personalized experience. Their warmth and attention to detail set a new benchmark for excellence.
Dining: A standing ovation to the executive chef, sous-chefs, and the entire culinary team. The food was fresh, inventive, and packed with flavour. This was one of our best experiences we ever had. We stayed for our honeymoon in the jacuzzi water villa with the sunset view. There are no words to describe how amazing the staff at this resort is. Thank you so much for making this trip so memorable and special for us!! Our host Alena was amazing, sweet and caring. The island is perfectly maintained, it is soo clean! Room service is done 2 times a day and was done extremely professionally.
The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay.
I am allergic to mushrooms, and the stuff was really keen to prepare the same dish without them if I asked. I didn’t even needed to mention it again to the cooks as they remembered about my allergy and made sure I do not pick up some inappropriate dish accidentally in the following days of stay!
Furthermore, head chef did quite a good job on creating a wonderful menu for a breakfast, lunch, buffer dinner and Christmas gala dinner! We were seriously impressed by the variety of food and interesting combinations of flavours!! Thank you so much!
We have been to other two five-star resorts in Maldives, and honestly it is not even comparable! We met guests on Veligandu island, who had their second or third time stay here. I believe that if people are choosing the same resort again and again this indicates something.❤️
The island is quite small, but we were never bored here. We really enjoyed the house reef, because it is full of life! We saw turtles, different types of rays, ocellaris clownfish and many other types of fish, baby sharks and crabs are everywhere!! 🦀🦈
And finally, the bananas growing on this island are literally out of this world!!so tasty! 🍌

We returned to Gangehi Island Resort after spending our honeymoon here ten years ago — and honestly, it felt like coming home. Very little has changed, which we mean as a huge compliment. The same peaceful atmosphere, the same warm smiles, the same effortless kindness from everyone on the island.
The resort still keeps its original Maldivian charm — natural, simple, and beautifully laid-back. The tropical vegetation is lush, and the sea is that unreal shade of blue with amazing coral just off the beach. We spotted reef sharks, rays, and even sea turtles while snorkeling.
The weather was a bit mixed during our stay, but that’s part of island life — and the staff made up for it in every way. Giorgio, the General Manager, surprised us with a complimentary upgrade from half board to full board — such a generous touch, thank you!
The restaurant buffet is uncomplicated but always delicious, mostly fish-based, freshly prepared and served with genuine warmth. The dessert corner deserves a special mention — fresh tropical fruits and homemade ice cream every day.
The spa offers excellent massages, and our excursion (even with rough sea) was great fun with beautiful snorkeling spots. The romantic dinner at sunset, with our own waiter and chef, was truly unforgettable — especially the aperitivo at the overwater restaurant.
In short, Gangehi remains an authentic Maldivian gem — friendly, relaxed, and made for pure relaxation. We loved every minute and will surely be back again.

The house reef really worth to go and see there for: it's just few steps from the shore with many fishes, live corals, anemone fishes (clownfishes), baby sharks, some sea turtles. We were even lucky to see one Manta. We enjoyed free snorkelling equipment. Only be aware that there are always strong currents arround the island, but we thought they are pretty safe. Besides - water sport instructors organize a free snorrkeling guide twice a day. We enjoyed a very good soundproof of the water villa, even on strong wind / waves day / night. The food is always fresh and tasty. The wi-fi is pretty good. We didn' lock the door of our water villa - we felt very safe there. We enjoyed a Vertical reef and Coral garden excursion - highly recommended. There is some very good vibe on this island which you can't love. It's not a cheap resort, but it's worth 100%. Some day we'll come back :)

Beautifully and remotely located, takes about an hour to reach in a fast speedboat. Well maintained rooms with everything you need. Transport was very well arranged both when arriving and when leaving.
We had a water villa which was very good value for money, a spacious room with room for an extra bed and a very large bathroom. The bathroom was also accessible from the patio of the villa to shower off saltwater after snorkeling.
Snorkeling opportunities were good right outside the room, and we saw a lot of reef sharks.
Food was excellent and varied, I highly recommend booking at least full board. If you like to drink a lot go for all inclusive, but we didn’t reach that even when drinking to our hearts content.
Excursions are available, and the ones we went on were very well arranged with excellent guides who cared a lot both for the guests and the marine life.

We spent lovely time in your hotel in Maldives. We liked absolutely everything. We would like to point your attention to perfect work of your manager Nurlan.
He made our stay the most memorable and we are so grateful to him. He did his best to make our stay wonderful. We are impressed with your hospitality, loyalty and kindness. All the staff was very friendly and it was so easy to talk to them. The rooms and the whole island are very cosy and clean. The food was so delicious especially the dinner on the beach. We had lovely dinner in Italian restaurant and liked all the dishes but the dessert (chocolate cake Giandulotto) changed our impression of the dinner as its taste is too simple and doesn’t comply with 5 star hotel food. Maybe it is worth changing this dessert.
We would come back to your hotel for sure!

The staff, the food, the new marine biologist and the house reef. The new marine biologist Alaina is amazing. She goes out weekly to clean the cages for the fish. I think it is because of her that the house reef is teeming with life!
I wasn't a fan of the beach villa because ours had a musty smell. But we were moved to the sand villa and it was perfect! That is really the only complaint I have of the resort. Mangela and I am so sorry, I forget the name of our friend who is the office manager...they helped us with the room change and checked on us daily to make sure we were happy.

It was a great experience. We was with 2 baby girls under 2 years. The staff was helpful- Anna guest relations was always in touch with us and help us with all administrative questions. We even spoke with one of owners Giovanna she was kind with us and very nice. We lived in water villa and it was amazing. The coral reef was perfect we even saw the manta near our villa. All island Nika is beautiful green , and very clean. We will be back with the pleasure. Thank you

This is paradise. Food is amazing. Beach bungalow has everything you might need. Lots of privacy. 3-4 cocktails I could drink for the rest of my life. Sustainable way of living. Staff is just incredible, not only professional and helpful, but also super friendly and funny. We had the best honeymoon we could ask for. Thank you everyone at Ellaidhoo, especially Unaish at the restaurant for taking good care of us and entertainment every night. :)

Friendly staff, facilities, over-water villa with private pool, turquoise water view from the water villas with plenty of baby sharks and colorful fish, resort pool with sunset views, activities, great snorkel, private beach, buffet, sunset cruise, scuba diving center at the resort. The chocolates/ cookies delivered daily in our room, the towels in the form of animals every day in our room, and the happy anniversary message on the bed.

10 stars just isn't enough. Everyone at the resort was wonderful and their hospitality and kindness made our honeymoon that much more special. We had an amazing time and have already started planning our return. Special shout outs to the chefs at lily maa and our best mate, farouk at the beach bar. I loved the swimming pools , the all around restaurant system, all with so much charm and views , the underwater restaurant although expensive, my room amazing, the spa was a dream , the color of the water in the lagoon turquoise , the staff so kind and polite always ready to help more

An amazing snorkelling beach -no boats or travel required -just thousands of colourful fish and turtles, perfect white sand and palm trees. The concession stand sold delicious, fresh-picked fruit-watermelon, papaya, bananas. We loved the Coccoa beach restaurant and the Black Anchor and the Mango House had fabulous lattes and desserts.

The most beautiful sea I have ever seen in my entire life. And mind you, I have visited many seas in many countries! For food, I recommend the restaurant at the Dhiguveli hotel and the Teapot restaurant. Getting around the island is very easy; you can reach any place quickly on foot. Don't miss going to the sandbank at one of the ends of the island.

I didn't like that the island lost most of it's green and I didn't see the wild nature I prefer. There was a lot of construction going on the moment I was there, I felt discomfort because of that. And maybe in 1-2 years it's going to be over I think. But on the other hand there's just amazing diving on the house reef and nearby reefs. There's a lot of nice restaurants and there was no day I felt bored.

It is a small enough island to walk around.
It is a small enough island to walk around. The locals are extremely friendly - always saying hello.
There are 3 restaurants all along the west coast. Compass seems most popular. But all are good with same offering of food.
There is a fair amount of building going on at the moment as they gear up for more tourists.
We used South Ari Dive for our diving trips. They are professional and friendly.

You need maximum 3 days to complete all trips, any more than...
You need maximum 3 days to complete all trips, any more than that would have to be someone who loves water sports as these are the main activities in this country, anyways.
Bring a mosquito or any insect repellent, you will need these after a stroll on the shores or anywhere there are plants.
Also have an anti-nausea pill if you are the seasick type.
Taxis have a fixed price for each location, check that out.
Alcohol in the resorts is expensive but then again that's all you got.
Best to pay all meals or include dinner in your package as there are almost no restaurants outside, depending on the island, and if you find one it's either a chips or coffee spots.

It was not my first time in Maldives and my experience there was disappointing compared to my previous trips in other resorts. The quality of service is poor and it’s a shame because the resort is lovely and the staff are nice but lack professionalism.

A Wonderful Beach Holiday. Necessary structure: shops and cafes are available. The ability to pay with a bank card, as well as in cash (USD, MVR). Good exchange rate in all places. I was pleased with both Mathiveri and Mathiveri Finholu: the beaches are clean, the sand does not burn your feet, and there is a comfortable "coolness" in the shade of the trees.

Feridhoo is an island inhabited by locals. They are Muslims, so respect them and wear decent clothes when walking through the village. The island has 2 restaurants with good food and fair prices, one dive base (Noohiri) and one small shop next to Shifa Lodge. We came for diving and found an abundant maritime life. There are 2 beach areas, one at the east side with the best snorkeling ground, the other at north/west side with berths for relaxing.

We enjoyed 7 days on the island. The rooms are very clean. The food is AMAZING! Everyone from staff are kind. The resort is sustainable, they try very hard to recycle and repurpose almost everything which is really nice. All inclusive is the smarter choice, trust me😄
The snorkeling is really fun! The whole island stands on coral reef and there is a lot to see! Maybe bring your own equipment, although you can rent. I don’t recommend the visit to the local island, nothing to see there
