The staff are just wonderful, we had a travel interruption and without any problem at all they were happy to be flexible with us. The property is lovely and although I am not much of a breakfast person I could see everyone really enjoying the vast options cooked by the friendly ladies. Also very clean. Highly recommend this place and hope to visit again.

All the staff at the hotel were exceptional especially Jorge and Daniela. The property is extremely well maintained. The gardens are stunningly beautiful. The food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced and the restaurant staff very attentive. We really enjoyed feeding the turtles in the turtle garden and seeing the beehive. The cave under the hotel was very unique. We had a great stay and would highly recommend it.

The staff was exceptional, they helped us right from the start and showed us to our room. They even made us an early breakfast as we had to leave at 7am. There are a lot of plants outside, which we loved. The room is clean and well equipped and we liked the fact that cups and glasses were sealed with wrap. Location is just great.

We came to Hotel Playa Laguna Front to unplug, relax, and enjoy the lagoon -- and that's exactly what we did for 5 days. The hotel is in a prime location, sitting at perhaps the most colorful, swimmer-friendly part of the lagoon. You can tell it's a prime spot because a lot of boat tours end around this area to let people swim in the lighter waters there near the cenote. It's also only a couple kms from the town center, so you can easily get into town while still having enough distance from the more touristy center. The hotel itself isn't a fancy upscale place, but that's not what we were looking for. Nonetheless the hotel is new and the facilities are clean/modern with great bathrooms. The hotel is run by a lovely team who were really accommodating...big thanks to the manager Evaristo for always being there to help with any questions. Another great thing is that the kayaks and sup-boards are free to use from 6am to 6pm. The only day you can't use them is on Wednesday when no water activities (other than swimming) are allowed across the lagoon. Wednesdays are conservation days, with inactivity allowing the lagoon to restore itself.

It was so close to the water, you could go for a swim any time in shallow, clear water. There is only 10 rooms, so it’s never crowded. The staff were amazing - so friendly, helpful and kind. I had an incredible experience at this hotel! I stayed in a Standard Double Room for four nights, and it was a truly enjoyable stay. Service & Staff 👏 From the Aquamarina restaurant staff to the front desk team, pool bar, and towel station attendants, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Their warm and welcoming attitude made my stay even better. Dining 🍽️ The hotel has four different restaurants, but I only dined at Aquamarina. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style, offering a wide variety of options. The average dinner cost was around 450-500 pesos. I was happy to see plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices, making it easy to find food as a vegetarian. Another huge plus was having a Starbucks inside the hotel, which was super convenient for me as a remote worker. Room & Cleanliness 🏨 My room was spotless, and the towels were fresh and clean. The hotel itself had a very clean atmosphere. The room was also well-equipped, featuring a large refrigerator, a microwave, and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Location & Safety 📍 The location is perfect—situated at the corner of the Hotel Zone, it’s only a 5-minute walk to nightlife spots like Coco Bongo and other clubs. I felt very safe walking around, even at night. I enjoyed taking walks along the bike path—1-1.5 km towards La Isla and 2-2.5 km towards Playa Tortugas. The hotel also has a stunning beach, which is one of its biggest highlights! Entertainment & Activities 🎶 The hotel hosts nightly events, which added a fun touch to my stay. One night, a Mexican singer performed, and another night featured a dance show—both were fantastic! Final Thoughts 💯 Overall, my experience was excellent, and I truly believe the hotel is worth the price. I would definitely recommend it for its amazing location, great service, and stunning beach! Would love to visit again! 😊✨

We had a wonderful 1-week family stay at Emporio! I was a bit confused with opposite reviews so didn't know what to expect, however our stay in Emporio was way beyond expectations! It was definitely the best value for money resort we've ever been to. Rooms were nice, clean and spacious, we had a beachfront family room on top floor (8th), the view was just spectacular! Restaurants were great, especially a la carte ones (Bacolli and Fasano) so make sure to reserve your seat (in person). There was a plenty choice of food in buffet restaurants for breakfast and lunch as well. Hotel beach was wonderful, I would say the most maintained within 3 km we've walked around, there is a beach bar where you can get drinks as well as order some snack meals to the beach, we've really enjoyed our time! We didn't use pools at all since the Caribbean sea was just out of this world, but they look nice and well maintained too, especially adults only one with the bar! Staff is also nice, they reallly work a lot and it's so many of them so you don't have to wait long for your service. Overall, wonderful experience!

Service: I spent one night at Papaya Playa Project in a beautiful Casita with a rooftop pool, and it was truly unforgettable. There is something about this place that captures the authentic soul of Tulum. The sound of the waves, the scent of the jungle, and the warmth of the people blend perfectly to create an atmosphere that feels both wild and deeply peaceful. Watching the sunrise from my rooftop pool felt like witnessing the world come alive. The sea in front of me, the palm trees swaying in the breeze, and the soft rhythm of nature all around me created a feeling of pure magic. What I loved most about Papaya Playa Project is its energy. It is not just a hotel; it is a place that makes you feel part of Tulum itself. Everything here feels genuine, earthy, and real. It is a space to disconnect from everything and reconnect with yourself. My stay was short but soul-stirring. I left feeling renewed, inspired, and with a piece of this beautiful place forever in my heart.

I absolutely loved my stay at Diamante K. The resort is tucked inside a Natural Park, and you truly feel immersed in nature from the moment you arrive. The cabańas are beautifully designed—thoughtful, minimal, and perfectly integrated with the surroundings. You can literally hear the sea from your room, which makes waking up and falling asleep an experience on its own. The whole place has such a peaceful, effortless beauty. It feels charming and grounded, like a seaside escape that still respects the nature around it. What made my stay even more special was the staff. Everyone was extremely kind, but I have to give a special mention to Riccardo at reception. He went the extra mile every single time and made me feel genuinely taken care of. It’s rare to find such warm, attentive service. If you’re visiting Tulum and want a place that’s beautiful, serene, and truly connected to the sea and nature, Diamante K is absolutely worth it. I loved every moment.

I highly recommend this place.

I highly recommend this place. We spent a week and visited everything planned: Chechen Itza, amusement park, Carmen beach and Isla de Mujeres. People are nice and the only problem is a weather with sometimes unexpected rains (so be ready to have plan B). Also driving differs from what I used to (be careful on the road)

By far the best thing about Playa del Carmen is the close proximity to cenotes. They are amazing water filled caves that you can explore, but you'll always need to do so with a guide. Otherwise, Playa del Carmen is pretty whatever. Kinda fun if you're looking for touristy party bar vibes (like Hard Rock Cafe type stuff), but generally it feels like a tourist trap for the most part. There are soooo many scammers here and it's really hard to tell what is a legitimate official group or just another scammer. For example, the Tulum national park entrance is filled with people selling tickets and tours as if they are park employees, but they are not. They even have constructed a fake security gate entrance to make it appear you must buy tickets before entering the park area, and of course the tickets they sell are about 4x the actual price. The beaches could be nice if they weren't filled with garbage. This is likely because many street food vendors and restaurants serve styrofoam and plastic utensils that frequently end up on the beach and broken into tiny bits. So the beaches are actually quite ugly as a result. Tren Maya is pretty useless since they decided to construct it miles inland from the towns, so it just leaves you in the middle of the jungle. Overall, I mostly just felt like I was being ripped off every day I was in Playa de Carmen and the area around it. I'd only recommend visiting a cenote or two and leaving for some place nicer.

Historical city with lots of wonderful restaurants featuring Yucatecan cuisine. I loved walking around the Municipal Market (Mercado)...so much to see and buy there Side trips to Valladolid and cenotes, and Xcambo and Xtampu were interesting and reasonably priced. I also took a cooking class from Sofia at her home...a fun day with excellent Yucatecan food.

Tulum city was completely disappointing (except for park Jaguar and archeological site) so I’m so glad we stood in “zona hotelera”. We chose a hotel who was in walking zone to “escultura de la luz” and almost all the time we walked through the beach because the road is terrible. We heard all kind of stories and didn’t want to risk so we booked our excursions in advance to Chichen Itzá, Coba, Cenotes, Tulum, Akumal and Xuan Ka’an and couple of times we used the app in drive to get to some further restaurants or to the city. We loved La Eufemia for a relaxed local chiringuito, had a great treat in Ana y Jose hotel and party at Bagatelle. To pay we chose the Revolut card, you can charge it immediately and pay and tip with the mobile phone (although tip we like to leave it in cash if possible). We used exchange office called Capital (in the city center and in zona hot.) The greatest thing was the private tours because we really get to know the people and the reality of Tulum and Mexico. It’s always better if you speak Spanish. They are really grateful. Absolute adventure and xian Kaan community are the platforms we used and we were delighted. We enjoyed Tulum before the hordes come for Xmas but when sargassum was already gone. First half of December, great weather, no crowds, clean beach. I hope I can come back one day soon.

though we were at the seasonal end of the Rainy season the roads did flood. The Hotel is far from the city center and are not walkable during certain times. taxi four wheelers at 200 pesos on way. Mangroves and rain make for flooded passages. We rented a bikes to get around however the puddles were too deep to get through. You do need GPS many options of getting to and from the hotel in Coco beach area. taking the weather in stride we enjoyed our 5 night stay in Holbox. There were great sunny periods and walked the beaches, sat under palapas, swam, and walked the sand bars at low tide, Coco beach and Mosquito. This place is what Tulum must have been 30 years ago. There is plenty of development/construction here and if you want to beat the commercialism it is time to go now, Luv it woud go back in a flash. I will go back. We found the best vegan vegetarian place Artes Sona a must.

It’s a tiny town, best to get around with a car but taxis are available too. It has a proper Caribbean vibe and the lagoon is just fantastic - really clean, warm and sweet water. We also enjoyed the food at La Playita restaurant.

If you love the sea, snorkeling and diving this is the right place for you. Fabulous sea world and fun divers brother/sisterhood. The island is also visited by many big cruise ships and that changes the intimate feel of some locations when those ships are inn.

Be very careful what they charge on your credit card when using the terminals since they put totals in mexican pesos they tend o put a diff amount and you only notice till you get the alert And the best restaurants on the main street in downtown are the ones that dont holler and beg to to come in, the Argentinian Grill steak house is a class A dinner

Puerto Morelos is a laid-back little beach town away from the busy-ness of Cancun, and easy to access. A friendly vibe and lots of inviting restaurants (check out Peninsula and King Taco!) and a handy supermarket. A perfect springboard for our trip inland into the Yucatan.
