Our stay at The Kailash Boutique Hotel has been nothing less than an exceptional human experience. It is a new hotel with all required amenities. Rooms are clean. The beds are very comfortable. Despite being situated in the busy thamel region, the hotel is away from the noisy streets. All the staff are warm and helpful. Breakfast has a reasonable variety and is tasty. Mr Dol, the Manager is always around the corner trying to provide the support required to arrange for local sim cards, taxi bookings and sightseeing/hikes/treks.

This is my goto hotel in Kathmandu, mostly because of the location and the nice and quiet backyard. The wifi is excellent and the staff are really nice and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds are comfortable. Good waterpressure and hot water in the shower.

The staff made sure that visitors would not be scammed and even took them our to get food or to exchange money. They provided tips to protect visitors from being exploited and went beyond all expectations that hotel guests would have. What guests pay for the value of the services is great. It is a beautiful hotel with healthy food that is in the heart of one of the most adventurous and alive parts of Kathmandu. It is also close to the airport.

Premises, hotel and rooms. Located right in the middle of the Thamel area. Restaurants bars and shops around. The area is quite lively but the hotel is quiet. The room is large, beautifully decorated with a large balcony, the bed is comfortable. Cleaning staff are nice and always have a smile on their faces 🙂 Restaurant: breakfast is enough to choose from with wonderful waiting staff (unfortunately don't know their names) who are helpful and very pleasant in their behavior which makes the breakfast taste even better. We requested early check-in as our bus from Pokhara reached Thamel at 5:00 AM, and they agreed. Breakfast including service was great as we were in a rush on our last morning in Kathmandu. Overall, it was great service & the staff behaviour was very friendly. Enjoyed our stay there.

In Nepal, both inDrive and regular taxi drivers can be tricky. They often charge more than double the normal price. With inDrive, after you receive a booking, they may call and ask for extra charges. If you repeatedly cancel bookings because you’re not comfortable, inDrive may even restrict your account. This caused a lot of trouble for us. I just want to remind everyone to be careful with taxi drivers and always make sure the cost or fare is clearly agreed upon beforehand.

It's been ages since I was in Kathmandu and I hear it's...

It's been ages since I was in Kathmandu and I hear it's gotten busier. Bhaktapur is a laid back option--lots of history and lots of local life at the same time. It's a walking town for travellers and you learn how to instinctively avoid the scooters. Pretty much every building has a rooftop Cafe of some sort and the views are spectacular. There's a little hustle from guides for hire in Durbar Square but they're pretty knowledgeable and the hustle is very gentle. If you're not interested, you can politely refuse and that will be the end of it. Given a choice, I'd pick Bhaktapur over Kathmandu as a place to hang out.

The location is perfect for quiet and relaxing. The facility is well maintained. Staff are very cooperative and friendly. Manager himself comes and enquire time to time when he sees you. Food is a bit expensive but tasty. Please consider visiting.

Value for money ,service oriented , the Bhutanese delicacy was amazing , very traditional and authentic touch. Front office team was amazing and always helpful and welcoming. The room was beautiful, spacious and all amenities placed tightly. The location is perfect close to Boudha stupa just walking distance and very peaceful and serene. Security staff very welcoming and professional. Very eager to come back to this property , I would highly recommend this hotel .

People in Kathmandu are friendly and helpful. The weather was fair for this time of year. A lot to see and take in. Shopping, eating all the very delicious Mo Mo soaking in Jhol. All the Temples, Shrines, breathtaking mountains views, and of course Mount Everest.

Nagarkot , lovely place to stay there, neighbours and villagers are very friendly, safe and secure. In every morning or evening, we walk around Nagarkot village to Nagarkot sunrise tower through pine tree forest. It has good viewpoints to snowcaps of Hamalia range, sunrise, sunset and community villages in valleys. In Nagarkot, we can have fresh meat, chicken, egg and milks all are fresh and tasty. There are a lot of restaurants nearby Nagarkot but enjoy cooking fresh meals , breathing fresh breeze, so nice of community life there. In some day , visit to Bhaktapur Durbar square by bus, and can go to several sites as day trip. Good to learn Tamang culture. For us, at least we want to stay at least 7 days but we found very late so we can only stay 4 nights. We will definitely come back Nagarkot
