We are very satisfied with our stay at Murchison. We went there in May during the autumn season so it was not very crowded. We pleasantly got upgraded from a Superior Deluxe Double to a way more spacious Family Room! We were super happy with the upgrade as we were travelling with a toddler. Having a separate room to let him sleep while still being able to do our own things outside the room is very convenient. The owners were also very friendly and kind. They gave us a bottle of milk upon arrival and gave us tips of activities around the area. Murchison actually surprised us with lots of nice walking/hiking options. The city itself was also very peaceful and pretty.

Location and good security for motorbikes. The bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in, in paid accommodation.

We loved the old inn, its charm and history. It was just lovely to go back in time. The view was fantastic, the ducs, alpacas (?) and the lovely dog were sweet and sipping wine bought from the tiny but well-equipped bar looking over the valley was just amazing. The hosts were friendy but didn’t overdo it. All facilities were spotlessly clean. Breakfast in the cosy dining room with other guests was a nice way to start the day. It was unfortunate that the dinner chef had a day off but we were were advised to a local restaurant where we got a decent and even gluten-free pizza for our sunset dinner in the pretty garden.

We were charmed by our stay at Helen's cottage! The host's warmth was evident from the moment we arrived - she graciously accommodated our early check-in with a smile, showed us around and provided suggestions for walks in the area.  The cottage itself and the main house are a  perfect blend of history and comfort. The kitchen is well-equipped and spacious, the bed provided an excellent night's sleep, and the shower was great. Everything was spotlessly clean. The property's location is ideal - just a 10-minute drive from the lake, which made for a lovely afternoon walk. But what really sets this place apart is the beautiful surroundings. They also serve dinner in the historic house if book it 24 hr in advance. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable stay in the area!
