Location is serene and like a postcard. Host Carolyn is super sweet & helpful. Think of this as a break from city in your vacation home/ cabin up in the hills, simple, functional and clean.

Great location amidst flowering meadows, easily accesible and easy to find on google maps. Very friendly and super helpful hosts (even sent us some forgotten items). Check-in seamless and easy. Accomodation was beautiful outside and inside, modern and brand new interrior.
Beds were very comfy and warm. Kitchen was well stocked. They even provided us with breakfast, eggs, milk, and bread which was very much appreciated. Fast WiFi. TV with netflix option. Would have happily stayed longer! Thank you!

Our tour of the Ruakura cave was great.
Our tour of the Ruakura cave was great. Our tour guide held the kids' attention the entire way and answered all of their questions. The caves are amazing to see and this walking tour is just the right length, even for young kids.
Don't forget to book ahead and take a warm top as it is quite chilly down there.

I enjoyed the peacefulness of the countryside.
I enjoyed the peacefulness of the countryside.
The have a small kitchen, with gas oven cooker, fridge.
There are two bedrooms. Double bed. and the other has bunks.
The shower is very small. Big outdoor bathtub! We stayed there as we visited Waitomo Caves the next day. We bought our own food to cook.

My first trip was 45 years ago.
My first trip was 45 years ago. In comparison back then there was no boat ride. So that was a nice way of finishing the tour. It was summer back then so there were more glow worms. So best time would be in the warmer months. We’re allowed to take photos at the very end only. Would have been nice to have been able to take a few of the caves itself without a flash as memorabilia. Also with groups going through close together it was hard to hear what our guide was saying over other guide’s voices. “Cup of tea” (John) was an excellent guide and very humorous and knowledgeable.

We booked an excursion with The Legendary Black Water...
We booked an excursion with The Legendary Black Water Rafting Experience Waitomo Caves and it was amazing! Our guides, Garret & Alicia, were fun, helpful, informative, and made sure were were safe in the cave & the water; this is is a must do! They take pictures for you because it would be impossible to float in a tube & take pictures yourself.
