We loved everything - the room was nicely furnished and spotlessly clean, breakfast was nice with a selection of Filipino and international options, the restaurant Brixie served tasty dishes throughout the day and the staff were very helpful and always willing to offer service with a smile. The staff is lovely! They prepared breakfast for us even one day when we overslept and one time very early in the morning because we were leaving early. They helped us book a taxi to Oslob and even get a ticket to Panglao. Amazing people. The restaurant is super cheap, and the food is amazing. I recommend the moringa leaf soup. The room was clear and the internet works very well. I worked from my room every day from 3 pm to 1 am without any problem

The breakfast wasn’t to our taste, but there was a lot of options and plenty of food. The staff were helpful and took in our lost bags when the airline delivered them when we were out for dinner. The facilities are fantastic, there isn’t anything we could think of that was missing!

Google Maps is your friend. During the holidays business schedules change. so some times a Museum might be closed. but lots are walking distance from each other. In my opinion if you are trying to hit everything quickly by taxi, your missing the point of this very old city. There are too many water ways, islands and traffic to be in a hurry. slow down, lots of things are free to look at. Carry small change with you always. it will help at all locations. Be polite buy a water if nothing else.

My first trip to PH was in 2024, I wasn't going to visit Boracay but did. I fell in love (despite being touristy which you can avoid if you want!) and couldn't wait to return in 2025 and wasn't disappointed!

Mactan felt poor and overcrowded to us. It is true that we arrived after flooding and typhoons, but I am afraid that the trash is a constant problem here. People live along the sidewalks, sometimes even in cardboard boxes that are often placed literally on piles of garbage. Emaciated dogs roam around, and roosters are tied on short strings. Children beg for money. If you want to go on excursions, you have to travel quite far, yet there are constant traffic jams, so even short distances take an unreasonably long time. Choose other islands.

Moalboal is a lively resort, lots of bars and restaurants. Beaches nearby are white sand and accessible. Badian beach a short ride away and less crowded than Moalboal. Popular waterfalls a short trip away. Easy bike hire.

Loved it all!

Loved it all! The whole island has a peaceful and calming vibe. There’s lots to do and see if you’re into the beach ie snorkeling and diving. Beautiful beaches and waterfalls. The roads are nice and wide with no traffic in most areas. It’s easy to hail a tuk tuk to get around or rent a scooter to explore. People are friendly. Food is variable and good. A very scenic place. We’d return in a heartbeat!

Iloilo was easy to move around, Grab was easily available but the best was the service provided at Civil Registry Office. It was so easy to conduct business in the Birth Division. Dumaguete is like all the other centres, chaotic, polluted and without any sense of road rules . As with all of the Philippines there are annoying minor charges (take a motorcycle on a ferry and find out) and corruption . So far nothing unusual. Rizal boardwalk offers light entertainment. Oh, don’t expect much from the tourist office. They are not much help.information of an exact nature is very hard to come by. The town is passable.

We came to Cebu just for swimming with sharks.

We came to Cebu just for swimming with sharks. It was a very interesting experience. We spent the rest of the day snorkeling at Sumilon. It was great. However, given shortage of time, 2 nights in Oslob with one day dedicated to swimming seemed just right for our group - we went on to see some more of the Philippines nature.
