The scenery is spectacular and the accommodation extremely comfortable.
Simple, traditional and rustic decoration, displayed in a beautiful and subtle way.
The breakfast served was varied and rich, with local jams, cheeses and even a raspberry surprise (no spoilers).
The landscape is absolutely breathtaking, perfect to relax and recharge.
I highly recommend this place.

A Serene experience. Beautiful accommodation featuring a mixture of styles and colours with everything being just so. Check out their own website. Our only issue would be a 20 min drive to local restaurant Papa's e Migas, but boy was it worth it. This comment is a personal point so not put as a criticism. Enjoy, but don't tell everyone, it's a secret.

The place is absolutely beautiful, the staff is super friendly and walked me through all the details I needed to know. I got the superior tent, which has a jacuzzi and great view! The food was superb and I couldn't be more pleased! I wish I could have afforded a longer stay, because I never wanted to leave! I'm definitely coming back on the summer!

Good location on top of the mountain
Friendly staff
Very good and comfortable bed
The shower was clean, goog water pressure and no problems with hot water

Covilhã is a wonderful place to stay, the gateway to nature trails and stunning landscapes. Nature lovers should keep away from Torre Serra da Estrela and discover the raw beauty of this huge natural park!

I was here for work, but added a day to go hiking in the Gardunha mountains. Good hiking trails, with good signposts. The tourism office offers brochures in English. I like the scale of the city: small & calm, but with a good variety of shops, bars & restaurants.

This is a hotel with a gorgeous view and with staff that are first class. I stayed here before, when it was a proper Pousada but losing that status has not lowered its standards. The restaurant staff were excellent, the food was OK

Unhais da Serra is a very small town.
Unhais da Serra is a very small town. It has one outstanding restaurant - As Thermas and another couple of ones that are good options as well. A couple of local shops that carry the delicious cheeses, charcuterie and liquors made in Serra da Estrela. We always stop to replenish or stock - we prefer the tiny mini-market, but the fancier shop has sweatshirts, slippers and interesting items as well.
It's the perfect get-away for rest and relaxation. We park the car at the H2otel and do walking to everywhere we need to go over the weekend. I'd say a 3-4 night stay is ideal.

Paul has fantastic conditions by its location/views of the mountain and a very nice small river, however needs further improvement to fully exploit such advantage. The park at the riverside lacks trails to be able to fully profit from the location. Adequate signaling is missing in the village.

It’s a beautiful village in the valley, still very authentic...
It’s a beautiful village in the valley, still very authentic, and really close to Serra da Estrela, but also to Covilhã if you wish to visit a city. Take your time to walk around the village and visit the community oven — on Thursday mornings, you might even get freshly baked bread. And don’t miss the walk along the river to see the bridges and the beautiful landscape.

We had booked a yurt for our one night stay, but it was quite dark inside for a beautiful day. The site was quiet that night so I asked if we could see one of the cabins. As soon as I saw it, I loved it, not big but beautifully put together and a lovely seating area outside, so we swapped. We didn't regret it.
Our hosts were really lovely and welcoming, they recommended a local restaurant which was excellent, we had a lovely quiet night and a good breakfast. I recommend Quinta do Ragal heartily.

Covilhã is very interesting to visit. Lots to see. Many restaurants and cafes. Taverna a Laranjinha is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in. Staff just fantastic and food excellent.
