The most refined elegance ever. Each corner is taken care of, reserving the old and emphasizing it with modern art. The stuff is wonderful and so the people attracted to this kind of elegance are also very nice and kind.

we went for a night as a family of 6 and we just loved every single thing at Luna, the place is simply amazing, the weather was favorable so we spent the afternoon at the pool, the water was surprisingly warm, I don't think it's heated but it was in a really comfortable temperature. the room was so comfortable that we didn't want to go back home! if you have the option to have the meal included just go for it! I can't describe how good the food was, we had codfish and we really loved it, there are plenty of options for the kids as well, and it's buffet, you don't even have to wait to get served, if you have kids that's a great advantage, last but not the least, the staff was really friendly! big Shout out to everyone that makes this experience such a great one! Superb location, newly renovated, all mod-cons plus spa access, a good restaurant and an excellent breakfast! JUST GREAT! We came here after trying to access the nearby chalet, Teixeira Home, where the cobble-stone access was so slippery and steep that our car didn't make it there. Despite the fact, that booking and the owner did not wave the cancellation fee (!), we are feeling blessed that we found Aguas do Geres. Located right in the middle of a charming resort town, with other good restaurants around, and amazing nature at our doorstep. A pleasure even in the continuous rain we experienced. We will be back, I hope.

We went to Vilas do Agrinho to celebrate our anniversary, and it exceeded our expectations. The staff helped prepare an amazing decoration at the villa. The space is absolutely gorgeous, surrounded by nature but at the same time serviced with modern facilities. There is a private access to the lake, with kayaks available to use, which we enjoyed the most. Everything was sparkling clean, and it was quiet all day long. There is a village nearby where we could buy groceries.

Pet friendly accomodation was our key factor, also this feel of entire and fully equipped rural house gave a sense of how people live in this area. We got really hooked up by the chimney and setting up the fireplace. It's very remote from everything surrounded by the mountains. There is a bakery in the nearby Rouças village which is the only place where it's possible to buy bread. Everything else needs to purchased before coming here.

You can e.g. rent a Pedallo at the Rio Caldo. In October there are not many shops open anymore but with a 20 Min. drive, you will find a supermarket. Also within an hour drive you'll find nice mountainside places worth to visit - trekking is definitely great in the area

It a lovely town have a chilled vibe. It is is easy to walk and finding parking wasn't too bad either. It's a good place to base yourself if you have a car as there are many good attractions not far by car. There are loads of good restaurants. There are a few scenic things to see such as the bridge, the water clock, some murals and a lovely boardwalk along the river. Don't miss the science centre (Centro Ciência Viva). They have a lovely river beach and awesome municipal pool. I have also attended the medieval market and reenactment of a historical battle (recriação histórica do recontro de Valdevez) at the Castle (Paço de Giela) - that was pretty cool. At Christmas time, be sure to go see the enchanted forrest (floresta encantada).

Considering we stayed one month, it wasnt long enough. if you love unrestricted access to mountains, waterfalls, the fauna in northern Portugal. the genuine friendliness of the people, and the food, Gee Wizz , come and enjoy what they have on offer, an example of the local people, we were climbing a steep road at the foot of a mountain near Ermal, and passed by a man cutting brush, once he realised what we were attempting, he gave us armfulls of fruit from his house, Kiwis, Apples, and Oranges, Just smashing, what a lovely guy.

Great walks. Lovely scenery. Friendly folks. Shame about the yappy dogs everywhere but if you are travelling without dogs you probably won't notice it so much. Download a walking app to help you. Take a drive towards Boimo. The views at the top are spectacular. Weather is of course changeable so be prepared for all kinds of weather. Pastel de nata from the Panaderia in Soajo are very good too.

Soajo is a great gateway to the surrounding Peneda-Gerês national park. It is accessible by public busses from Arcos de Valdevez central station (see https://www.avic.pt/home), and close to trails. The town has minimarket and two bakeries, so it is easy to buy anything one needs. It is also nearby the barrage and the town of Lindoso with a castle. The villages in the area also have famous Espigueiros. The area is home to famous Portuguese Garrano horses and antique cattle breed of Cachena cows. People are very friendly and helpful, and the scenery, specially the dramatic ravines and dells, are iconic.
