The staff and the facilities were all excellent! The hotel is an old factory and they have managed to not only create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, they have done this while maintaining a lot of the feeling of the old factory. I was actually surprised to like an airport hostel. They really don't have to try to be great - people will go there because of the convenience anyway. And yet it was fantastic. Especially the staff. There was a minor mixup due to some system error, and the lady at the reception desk solved it quickly, efficiently, while being nice and friendly. I was even offered a room upgrade (which wasn't necessary, but was such a lovely gesture). The early early breakfast was great - the whole idea of having a breakfast at 5.30 so the early flyers can eat is great in itself, but also I was pleasantly surprised with the buffet. There was good bread (not just toast type stuff), different kinds of buns, cheese and vegan options - including a whole selection of plant milks! For a lactose sensitive vegetarian it was really a treat. I'm aware it's not a hotel for the whole stay for anyone due to the location, but I really do recommend it if you have an early flight out/late flight in.

The room was pretty and spacious, and very clean. Breakfast was excellent. If you wish to dine in the hotel, remember to book your table in advance, the restaurant was full. Dinner was also very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived several hours before the check-in time, and with a small additional cost we got our rooms for our use. If you are traveling with dogs, this place is for you. Pets are welcome and right next to the hotel is a nice little forest with trails.

The room offered a spectacular view that captivated us throughout the day and night. The breakfast was delightful, and considering my wife's dietary preferences—she doesn't consume red meat—the hotel thoughtfully arranged a fish option for dinner at no additional cost. Our overall experience at the hotel was truly enjoyable, and we thoroughly cherished our stay.

We attended a wedding at the manor and decided to extended our stay to relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside. There's a gorgeous lake and you can go for a refreshing plunge (but the area has lots of waterlilies so can't do proper swimming) and hire a kayak. We also walked around the lake - it was great but would recommend borrowing the cycles from the manor as the 15-20km is more of a leisurely bike ride distance. Surrounded by idyllic countryside: flower fields where you can pick your own for a small donation, grain fields, cows and horses, old-fashioned barns, summerhouses, woods with blueberries and cowberries, lakes, etc. Comfy bed, clean new facilities, great breakfast. The main manor house is gorgeous.

Upon arrival I was greeted by Leif who was very friendly and very efficient. We have rented the family flat which was a couple of blocks away from the hotel building ( 5 min walk) and we were given very clear instruction how to get there. The flat was absolutely beautiful. Everything was very clean, very comfortable beds and bedding. The flat is very spacious and has a great kitchen and tv with many channels. The breakfast buffet was great, there was a big selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Free parking was a great bonus. I would highly recommend staying at Hotell Kunsgbacken.

I asked for vegan options for breakfast and they prepared many different options for me, which was very thoughtful and accommodating. Nykoping (pronounced New-shopping) is clearly not on the tourist trail. It is a pretty town, with old parts and new areas. So it's fairly quiet and chilled as a place. The Sormlands Museum was a good place to go as was Stendorren Nature Reserve, definitely climb the tower for the view and go pond/sea dipping. Also the mini golf on the harbour. There were plenty of shops and restaurants there. Shopping at Hemkop or Willys was all good for the essentials for a day out. Also had a hot buffet section until 6pm. Which was great for lunch. We ate at a local Taco Bar, which was fine, the portions were a little small for teenage boys. Also at Max's burger place, which was excellent if a little more expensive than McDonalds. We also were informed by the car rental place that we should try a place called 29, a pizza take away, it charged 29 kronor for a good sized Margherita, about £2.50. It was freshly cooked and there were loads of other options all at different prices. Not the healthiest selection of dinners but it certainly didn't break the bank. The more traditional Swedish restaurants were that bit more. Prices in bars for drinks are the same as London. We drove around but we travelled from Gothenburg to Stockholm by train which was very straight forward (took 3.5 hours) but the standard of travel is equivalent to first class in the UK. Everyone talks to each other whether you know each other or not. We spent a day in Gothenburg which was lovely, 3 days in Nykoping, a day in Stockholm and a day in Orebro. Definitely visit Orebro if you have time, Stockholm was unsurprisingly very touristy. Make sure you take trousers during the summer months, I wore shorts the first night we were there and got bitten on my legs by the mosquitos. Lesson learnt. Trousers for the rest of the holiday and not problems.

We traveled to Nyköping to visit friends over the holidays. We did not expect to experience a lovely town center (which might need a few more trees, but it was winter, so hard to tell). We walked quite a bit and enjoyed hills, river walkways, and some reasonably good restaurants. Ät ('eat' in Swedish) Restaurant was open and offered some good pizza, fish and chips, wraps and more substantial meals for prices slightly above average. Ambiance and service there were very good.
