- From US$193.39 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 2,547 reviews-Friendly, helpful staff in all areas, especially Spela at reception who helped us with a number of things, including contacting an attraction for us to help re-schedule a visit, as we don’t speak Slovenian! -The swimming pool, hot tub, Turkish steam bath and Finnish saunas were a DREAM to get into after long days out, often days with challenging hikes in the mountains -The room was very cozy and comfortable, tastefully decorated and with a beautiful view of Lake Bled -Excellent, consistent turn-down service by housekeeping staff -Access to English-language TV, including the ones with my favorite British mystery shows—very nice to chill out to in the evenings -Close to many good restaurants, bars and shopping -Close to bus stops (including the free shuttles) where you can get buses out to Lake Bohinj, Vintgar Gorge and pretty much anywhere else you might want to visit from Bled as a day trip or next destination -THE BREAKFAST BAR!!! The walk around the lake is great to do either way.
The walk around the lake is great to do either way. A visit to the castle is a must. Vintgar Gorge is stunning and the walk back into Bled is easy to follow. Definitely visit Bohinj area whilst staying in Bled. You can’t cycle around the lake however the walk is lovely and you can get the electric boat back across the lake as an option. Kranjska Gora is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts such as trail runners like us. We visited to run the UTMB Julian Alps in September so the atmosphere was buzzing. We stayed in Bled for a couple of days before moving to Lake Bohinj, on reflection, we preferred Lake Bohinj to Bled, it was less busy, quieter, and if we wanted was in each reach of Bled for a visit. Small town with a lot of historical buildings to see and stories to hear, also the tunnels built in the 2nd world war. There is beautiful nature in (rivers Kokra and Sava) and around it that you can visit. I was there two years in a row in September and each time we had a shorter option of a guided tour. Slovenia on the whole is one of the most beautiful countries we have been to. It was very lush and green and has beautiful mountains with little villages tucked away in between. WE love our visit to to Ljubljana, Lake Bled and Postojna caves!! The small village of Mojstrana is at the beginning of the climbing area for Triglav, and the place is amazing—calm and beautiful. Skofija Loka is a stunning medieval town surrounded by beautiful hills, forests and farmland. The castle perched above the town hosts the town museum and is well worth a visit. The old town features lots of beautiful buildings and small squares with cafes and shops. We ate out twice, once in a Balkan food specialist called Das ist Walter and once in a restaurant near Stara Loka called Inglic. Both were excellent and good value for money. The cafe bar Homen in the centre was also very good for cakes and coffee with exceptional, friendly staff. We also enjoyed two long hikes in the surrounding hills.
