CroatiaWe had an amazing stay at Pino Alpino! We came with our little 3 year old son who didn’t need to pay for that stay and they even gave us a breakfast for him! We were ready to pay for his breakfast but it was free - amazing! We will definitely come back to this hotel because we never had such a great kids friendly stay. And of course the room was very nice, spatious, clean and cosy. Breakfast was a la carte and very very delicious. And the staff was amazing. Total 10/10 for our stay. <3

The key cards need to be collected in the hotel, just 2 minutes away from the apartment. There is a large shop (open till 19:00) at the main street, near the hotel. The bakery is also near, open early in the morning.
The apartment for 3 people was extensive, with nice view. These are simple rooms, without any luxuries, but just to stay, have a nice sleep and to have a central stop to visit the area. The free paring is just outside the windows, everywhere. Gas station is in the same area. From the apartments there is a mac 5 min walk to the main promenade with shops, restaurants, bars, etc. But the most important is the view of the Alps, which you see, wherever you look.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days, to do mountain hiking around. I liked the family room, sufficient space to deposit your stuff and luggage. Some remarks in other reviews mention about the lack of air conditioning. During our stay, there was a heat wave for one week and we didn't feel the need for any cooling. Also, there were comments about limited options for breakfast - it is somewhat true, but not that much if you think it is still a 3 star hotel. We would definitely return to this hotel if we would visit again Kranjska Gora.

The location is amazing with breath-taking views of the Alps in the Vršič Pass. Lots of things to see nearby. The staff were very helpful and helped us with info regarding hikes, trails, hidden gems nearby, etc. The the rooms were very clean and cozy with nice views. Food was also really good. Breakfast was really great. My partner didn’t eat meat and she had a lot of vegetarian options. In the other hand I love meat and I also had great choose. Bed are big and so comfortable. View from the balcony is absolutely stunning. Huge recommendation

Wonderful place in December when we visited. Walking around Lake Jasna was enjoyable, especially with the fire near the restaurant and Christmas decorations, The town is beautiful and was very active on a Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed Pizza in the old part of town at a local restaurant.

The small village of Mojstrana is at the beginning of the climbing area for Triglav, and the place is amazing—calm and beautiful. Houses and backyards are so clean, and the stream in the center of village is so cute. If you like bike tour there is bike road toward Kranjska Gora.

Rateče is a small village in the northwest corner of Slovenia, literally a few hundred meters from the Italian border. The tourist resort of Kranjska Gora is located 6 km to the east, and the Slovenian Alpine Museum in Mojstrana 20 km to the east. Very scenic Fusina lakes are 8 km to the west. The interesting little town of Tarvisio is also nearby in Italy. The area offers nice hiking and cycling possibilities, exploring the 19th and early 20th century military fortresses, and also exploring the interesting small baroque churches. Walks in the surroundings of Rateče are fantastically tranquil and relaxing. The area also offers some nice restaurants with traditional food, as well as very tasteful cheeses! Planica Nordic Centre is located 3 km to the south from Rateče. The Alpe Adria Cycling Path runs along the abandoned but very scenic old railway Tarvisio - Jesenice!

Very cozy and peaceful, a 3 minute drive from Kranjska Gora, convenient stays and lodges in the area, there are stunning landscapes surrounding this little village, just perfect. Waterfalls and forests are on walking distance.

Great place for a little escape to the mountains when I travelled in late summer for trail running. The town is full of nice little restaurants, many of them offering superb Slovenian food.
I recommend Pino Alpino for a drink and dinner at Restaurant Lipa.
If you have a day to spare a trip to Lake Bled is also well worth of your time, either to go swimming or to take a trip around the lake by boat.
I would recommend having a car as it can be tricky to get in and out of town without.
Will come back in winter to check out the slopes!

Good starting location for trips to Austria, Italy or Slovenian mountains. We visited fortresses from the First World War period, lakes, Soča river, mountains, mountain passes and a Russian wooden church. We will come back for sure for hiking.

What a lovely place to stay. Easy access to cycle paths to Kranjska Gora. Easy access by car to Triglav routes. Comfy, with a good mix of rustic charm and modern convenience. Make sure to check out Gostlina Ema near lake Bohinj for incredible food in a stunning location.

Kranjska Gora is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts such as trail runners like us. We visited to run the UTMB Julian Alps in September so the atmosphere was buzzing. Weather was amazing, we definitely got lucky as a storm rolled in the day we left. A few nice restaurants, pubs and cafes, all of which really good value.
