The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. There were fresh towels, bathrobes and slippers, a flat-screen TV, and generally lots of storage space. The food was exceptionally delicious, and the buffet catered to a variety of diet preferences and requirements. Another noteworthy advantage is that there are four elevators so there is virtually no waiting as there is always a free elevator. The spa facilities are in great condition with very clean pool water considering the amount of visitors present every day. Not to mention the fact that the hotel is located on the riverside, offering amazing views of the surrounding nature and opportunities to walk and explore the numerous nearby localities. A pretty charming place. A good amount of restaurants could be found and there were plenty of coffee shops and bars. The walk along the river is lovely as there are lots of swans. Ptuj is a lovely old town with much history. My husband was born there so I have visited many times and was very happy to see how the tourism has become more popular in the last 2 years. However Ptuj is still a very relaxed town with a nice cafe culture and some lovely restaurants with both modern and traditional food. A walk up to the old castle is a must as is a stroll along the river. The town boasts the oldest wine cellar with delicious wines on offer. The old cobbled streets can be a little steep for some and many choose to get around on bicycles. Good variety of restaurants that stay open late in the night, so no problem to eat after swimming in the warm water. Unfortunately, we spent only one night in this beautiful place, but we didn't want to leave at all. The accommodation and place is magical, beautifully thought out. The hospitality of the owner Janko Zupanec is incredible. Wine, fantastic home cooking in the best sense of the word, simply amazing. We had the opportunity to taste Janko's salami .. for sure the best I have ever eaten. We are very much looking forward to returning to this magical place. Really I didn't see much of the town as our purpose of travelling was to ki in Rogla, aproximatelly 25-30 kms away from our accomodation. The hotel we stayed is not in the town but in a nearby village by the road and close to highway. By car it take only a few minutes to go to Slovenska Bistrica where you can find a shopping certre with quite a lot of stores. Slovenska Bistrica is fairly close to Maribor City, the second largest city in Slovenia. The lake is the main attraction and has everything you would want. There is a big bar/restaurant and food trucks as well. There is a huge inflatable play area that is free of charge (just a 5 euro deposit for a wristband that is returned when you return the wristband). The center of town is small but has everything you need. Many choices for restaurants and everywhere has free parking. A great local holiday place without too many international tourists. I love it! Pretty decent apartmans really close to bike park trails starting points, like couple hundred meters, so perfect for MTBers visiting bike park. Also, all facillity worked properly and we had 2 huge beds. Comfort was on the proper level. We even had terracw on which we could go smoke or just chill after long day of biking.
