As others have said, the photos don't do this place justice. We upgraded our room and had a beautiful little balcony overlooking the old town, yet the room was exceptionally quiet. The free breakfast was a bonus and was quite decent. Separate toilet room and a room with a soaker tub, and a huge room. Great value for the money!

The hosts were super helpful: they know the area very well and are able to give up-to-date information and recommend places to go (or suggest modification to our plans) as well as the best way to get there (thus saving us valueable time we would have spent travelling). The place is surrounded by forest and there are no sounds of traffic, so we slept really well. Breakfast is tasty and when the weather is good, you can take it outside in the freh air and sun. The extra touch to our stay was that the hosts offered to give us a better room in another building at no extra cost since our stay coincided with a big group of people arriving on the same day as us and the original room we were supposed to be in was in the bigger building taken by the group. I mean, the room was still there and unoccupied, but the hosts decided to give us extra privacy which was very considerate.

First, I'd like to note that we've got a higher class cottage - Javorina Comfort - for the same price (because of an error in a booking system). This comfort cottage has everything you need (refrigerator, electric stove, dishes, microwave). There are few nice restaurants nearby and one small grocery shop. Sucha Bela trail starts right behind the cottage. The camping territory is clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay, and would definitely recommend this place.

excellent location, very good attention from the staff, the hotel has its own parking space, the breakfast is very good since it is included with the room without paying extra, I expected less from the comments I read but very complete (it has a coffee machine, cold cuts, yogurt, some sweet things, cheeses, juices, breads) very well. We went with our pet and everything was very good, the spacious room.

The room was great, had everything we needed. Great shower and a very comfortable bed. The restaurant was right below us and still, it wasn't noisy or anything. At the restaurant, the food and beer were lovely, and the setout is very nice. Oh and breakfast, yum :) The staff was very helpful with everything. Highly recommend this place if you would like to wind down.

Strolling through the old town, whether by day or night, offers a truly delightful atmosphere. We enjoyed dining out as well as preparing some meals in the rented flat. We only wished we had more time to spend there. The Christmas market was wonderful, and the festive lighting during the Christmas season was absolutely magnificent. We cherished every moment of our stay.

A great small town!

A great small town! Lots of shops and a great point to travel to Paradise park and castle in Spissky Podhradie by train... Great stay! Not hard to get around and a tourist office is a bit forward, on the left street from the stay... Nice! I recommend it!

These clean and modern apartments are stunning. They are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable self catered stay. The host left lots of personal touches which were very much appreciated. We chose an upstairs apartment for the balcony and a better view. This was the case, however there is still a lot of building work being carried out opposite which kind of ruined it. The check-in was easy and explained well via a message. But unfortunately because this address isn’t registered on Google Maps yet, it’s a bit difficult to find. It is actually down an unmarked gravel lane. Easy once you know this, but the host didn’t mention this beforehand. The area its self is perfect for exploring the National park. We did one of our walks from the apartment it’s self. The apartment is going to be part of a holiday complex which will be very luxurious when finished. I think that it is reflected in the price currently charged (unfinished). We really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you.

We went there to work on family history and visit old cemeteries. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and it rained most of the time. I would like to go back in the spring when the weather is nicer. It is a very nice citiy.

Visiting Kosice in December is the best option, city is well decorated and there are many ongoing city events and gatherings. There are many historical places to visit, especially old churches, beautiful montains and shopping malls. Kosice combines old and new in a single whole.

I loved Spisska Nova Ves.

I loved Spisska Nova Ves. The old part of the town is very pretty and it is a short train ride to Poprod and from there to the mountains, which are beautiful. I wish I'd been able to stay here longer. And I loved the art gallery. Not big but some really interesting exhibits. Spisska is easy to walk around and the restaurants are great and not expensive. The only thing I would avoid is the person in the park trying to convert me to their religion. But that is not Spisska's fault.

Hrabusice is an excellent base for hiking at the Slovensky...

Hrabusice is an excellent base for hiking at the Slovensky Raj or High Tatras. It is also close to many historical sites. We loved staying at Ubytovanie at Emka. It was our second time in three years. It is a short walking distance to Restauracia u Hudaka that serves freshly cooked delicious meals at a great price.

I come here every year for the International Peace Marathon and I think that this fact says it all - i simply like this marathon weekends, the run itself, the atmosphere around... and there is always something historical to explore when there is some free time. Or not historical, but some interesting exposition in the Slovak technical museum.

Spisska Nova Ves a middle size town with historic center and largest oval-type square in Europe. Catholic church's tower in SNV is tallest one in middle Europe. Moreover SNV is the center of historic Spis (Sepesi, Zipser) region with museums. Near to SNV there is historic town of Levoca (10km distance) with extraordinary St. James Basilica equipped with wooden altar of high historic value.
