Location was very close to the main downtown centre like a 10 min walk. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops and bakeries. Just a walk away from the cathedral, the national theater. Also this hotel is about 30min drive to Lake coatepeque. And there is security on the premises. And love the bathroom walls all glass, it's a cool look.

The location on the lake was perfect, plenty of relaxing areas, proximity to the bus, small swimming pools were great for kids or relaxing.. They have a variety of watersports on offer. . The food was average.

I am not into tours, rather create my own adventure.

I am not into tours, rather create my own adventure. Hiking seems to be a good option for surrounding areas, but there is no public buses to access, gotta Uber it or your guide company.. The Volcano hike requires a paid guide traveling in groups. Also other hiking areas but not sure of specifics. Unfortunately it appears you get charged for accessing any nature areas. I thought grocery store items were higher than San Salvador. Only a few major grocery/ market stores. They got you. Unfortunately it appears old style open markets are a thing of the past like other Latin American countries. Just individual sellers roadside. It's a pity. They got Americanized El Salvador might be the next Costa Rica, the cost is already comparable. (USD is only currency= devaluing dollar)

Definitely the most beautiful sunset views of Izalco volcano and the beach at the same time just step away from your room, you can also appreciate orchids naturally attached to the trees and a variety of flowers all around, the restaurant is excellent and service too. Employees are very friendly, attentive and helpful. Definitely a must visit place.

Santa Ana is an amazing town with so much history and culture. Make sure you do a free walking tour so they take you to see what it has to offer. I recommend you do one first that way you can remember the place the guide recommends. So many place to eat and enjoy local food plus also fast food options. The people are super friendly and will help out. If you want a confidence boost visit the markets the ladies who sell there make you feel like your the most important person in the world plus what they sell is beautiful. Lots of place to go within walking distance but make sure that you do the hike up the Santa Ana volcano. You will get tired, you will need hiking sticks and hiking shoes but when you get to the top you will be glad you did it. Plus you can buy a artisan Paleta when you reach the top.

This place is a boutique mountain paradise.

This place is a boutique mountain paradise. At 2,000 meters ASL it’s surrounded by a national forest reserve and has espectacular views. The food was really good and the service excellent. Staff was always willing to help and go the extra mile. The road to the mountain is very good and you also get great views on your way up. There are guided trails of different difficulty and you can even climb both the Izalco volcano and the Santa Ana volcano. They’re both more demanding adventures. Great coffee and food. There are many activities available near by such as nature tours walking and ATV. You get room service whenever you want during restaurant operation hours (7:30 am-8:30pm). We had a great time, fine place for relaxing and getting close to nature. Will definitely visit again and are interested in the other Casa1800 venues.

I liked the areas around Santa Ana a bit more than San Salvador. Santa Ana seemed a little more homey or fun. The cathedral is nice. The place is safe. Nice views. There's a lot of souvenir shops but tons of the items are hand crafted and a bit fragile and painted. There is one area that harbours like a looot of souvenir shops all together somewhere in the north centre of the town.

If you are expecting to go there for the view, forget about it! You will be in the middle of the fog/ clouds the entire day! If you are lucky you will see a piece of the volcano for five minutes! That’s it!!!!
