Everything. This was the best hotel we've ever stayed in, period. Our stay was fabulous. The staff is so friendly, so attentive, and very respectful. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. On top of it we received an upgrade for the room.They just topped it off with all the details: every day fresh water, every day your room gets cleaned, the breakfast was the best we've had throughout our journey in Thailand, they even "design" the scrambled eggs on your plate with a little fresh flower, they bring you fresh fruit to the pool. They take the leaves out of the pool like the moment it drops ;) Also the other food and cocktails are very good. They help you find whatever you're looking for in terms of daytrips, transport, etc. What a lovely hospitable team of staff they have, they really engage in a real conversation! And besides that the hotel lies in a great location on walking distance to the centre of Chiang Rai and the Saturday market is around the corner of the hotel. I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat, and when we return to Thailand, we will return to Mora Hotel.

This was the perfect place to stay in the mountains of Chiang Rai. The hosts were so lovely, a special thank you to Fon who was always happy to help and so prompt with any questions I had. She had also helped arrange my taxi to and from the venue which was such a great help. The afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast was very well prepared and very delicious. The room was spacious and the views of the sunset and sunrise were so beautiful. The hot tub on the balcony was also so pleasant to be in after sunset and just watch the city light up. It really was the perfect spot to relax and escape from the everyday hustle. Great hosts and an amazing stay, I would definitely stay here again!

This small hotel feels like home in a big, beautiful garden. The room was very spacious, with a big covered terrace with magnificent views. The bathroom was very clean. We enjoyed the infinity pool at the sunset. There are many cozy corners where you can rest, read, have a drink… all is very beautifully designed and stylish. We also enjoyed the dinners at a pond or on a portico. The hotel organised great trips for us with a driver. The coffee plantations and coffee villages. The spa massages were very healing…. End everybody is soooo kind and smiling. We loved the place

Far better than chiang mai.

Far better than chiang mai. Cheap a few good bars and restaurants on and around walking street. The temples are the best we have ever seen. Very friendly and safe place. Thailand 25 years ago. No hassle and great people. Oh and very cheap.

Mae Salong is a beautiful haven for a getaway. Firstly, there are a few tea farms on the mountains. The scent of flowers wafts through the air almost wherever you go. Nothing is like the beauty of sun rise and sun set here. Last but not least, food is good.

It was a great stay for just two days (we arrived in the afternoon of a Friday and left on Saturday evening). It was long enough to see the Blue temple, the big Buddha, the white temple and the black house. We would recommend not to walk much, just use Grab for transportation between the temples.

I ❤️ Mae Salong. The clean crisp air and many local ethnic groups make this a great place to visit Love staying at Shin Sane GH or Little House GH. Each still offer great prices for cottages and Shin Sane still has the original rooms from wooden house and at a shoestring price for this region Love eating at Yunnan noodles down the road a bit past 7 Eleven and Salima’s. There’s a pure veg place heading towards the cathothic school nearby.

Acceptable for one night. You need a car to get to the hotel. The rooms are not soundproof. Quite loud from the traffic. The hotel is located directly on the main street. The breakfast is not bad and with good coffee to make yourself with a coffee machine.

A great location to see the amazing White Temple, Blue Temple and Red Temple with the Big Buddha. Various other great day trips also easily done from Chiang Rai. Stay a few nights to get the best from Chiang Rai.

Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river. Views are amazing and the food is good. It is not very big so staying for an extended time may be dull for some. Great for relaxing and quiet. Excellent for walking and/or riding bicycles.
