I am an insulin dependent diabetic. I forgot my insulin in the refrigerator in my room. The maid saw the insulin, realized its importance to me, and notified the front desk. The woman at the front desk telephoned us immediately. We had driven half way to Bangkok and were unable to return to retrieve my medicine. The woman at the front desk mailed the insulin to our destination hotel. I believe she paid the postage herself. That’s excellent service.

We wouldn't have wanted to miss visiting at least one...

We wouldn't have wanted to miss visiting at least one historic site while touring Thailand, so Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya is a good place for this. We opted for Wat Chai Watthanaram. From our hotel it was a 75 minute walk, but we found it quite interesting to take in the sights at this pace. You could also take a tuk-tuk to travel more easily. The temple was definitely worth a visit, but also watching people dressing up in historic costumes and posing for pictures in the temple. For dinner we chose some road side stalls.

My favorite part was the garden!

My favorite part was the garden! I loved the little rabbit and the chicken, and the garden was so pretty with the waterfall, mist, plants, and pond. The room was very clean and quiet, and I got the pool view, which was really nice. They have a lot of amenities, including a pool and a cute cafe, Moakmai. The staff were very welcoming, especially Khun Aey, who showed me around the amenities and the garden. They also served Japanese breakfast by the pool, which was a lovely touch.

It's an important historical town, and there are a lot of...

It's an important historical town, and there are a lot of interesting ruins scattered around. You need to know something - quite a lot, actually - about the historical Ayutthaya period in order to get something out of the visit, otherwise you're just looking at ruins; and as cool as they are, they won't mean much without context.

The ancient sites were truly amazing and not to be missed. It was a lot of walking, but we visited most of them. There are many tuk-tuks readily available in the area. We ate at the night market, and I had some of the best food of anywhere in Thailand.
