The accommodation definitely exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious and had a good air conditioning system. There were vending machines for water, snacks, and more. The pool is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the place. We used the restaurant for breakfast, which was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

The hotel is just few minutes walk to Patong beach, and shopping area. We could even walk to a nearby mall. We really appreciate receptionist, Aoddy we even showed us places to visit. The lady whom I forgot her name was also very much helpful. The room was clean, air conditioned and I may not think twice if I happen to visit the same area. It was home away from home.

Staff, location, room, breakfast, wifi and cleanliness all exceptional. The hotel is a two-minute walk to the beach and a ten-minute stroll to the Patong epicentre, Bangla Road. Whether you are passing through Patong on a short trip or staying longer, everything you need, such as a pharmacy, currency exchange and 7-11 is very close. The host can organise tours, motorbikes, laundry, etc, so you can maximise your time in Phuket. There were many different nationalities staying here, which made the breakfast conversations very interesting, and the host team's good nature ensured a nice, welcoming atmosphere. Totally recommend SJ Beach House.

Idyllic Island of International Fame

Thailand’s largest island, Phuket has a mountainous landscape leading down to lush, green palms, warm, turquoise seas and soft, golden sands. Patong is its most developed resort and is well known for outrageous nightlife. There are lots of clubs, bars and restaurants in the main town and it also has a fantastic beach lined with hotels and resorts.

To the south is Karon, home to the 2nd largest beach and offshore coral reefs that are good for snorkelling. Quieter Kamala also has coral reefs and good surfing conditions, as do the curved beaches at Kata.

The island’s airport is in the north and there are lots of Phuket hotels near the airport in Mai Khao and Nai Yang, where sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. In Bangtao to the south there is a great range of Phuket hotels with private pools on Booking.com, while around the corner in exclusive Surin there are often typical Thai long boats bobbing up and down in the rolling waves.

On the other side of the island Chalong has an impressive Buddhist temple and is a popular spot for kitesurfing. Neighbouring Panwa has shallow water coral and the Phuket Aquarium to explore. The Phi Phi islands are off Phuket’s eastern shores and their idyllic scenery makes wonderful day trips.

Resort is full of small details that make the stay special - fruits in the room, complimentary small refreshers served at the swimming pool area periodically, impeccable cleanliness. Alessandro was of great hospitality, took us to the swimming pool area and offered drinks while we were waiting for the check-in - great touch and amazing service. Overall - kudos to the Team, I am looking forward to be back. Don’t even mention how beautiful the site is.

Fantastic host, the property is well-kept, and you'll have to leave your shoes when going inside - though it is spotless inside the hotel. The beds are comfy, you will be provided with like 8 bottles of water for 2 persons. The location is excellent - a Buddhist temple nearby and a beach in the other direction is 5 minutes close.

Central Patong Beach is very busy and congested, personally not my recommendation, however it is much more quiet at either end away from the central area. I would more recommend Kata (although it is wall to wall sunbeds - unbelievable really) and Karon Beach and highly recommend Kamala Beach.

Phuket Old town had a charm of its own offering many options for cafes & food. We had Thai food at Raya which was super delicious. Beaches at Kata & Karon are fun too. As Patong is overcrowded, these places offer much relaxed life. Andamanda waterpark is a must to do for all ages. And recommend Catmaran rides to islands for those who dont like choppy high speed rides in the ocean.

Kata was nicer than Patong - less night life, We didnt enjoy the beaches the amount of rubbish in the sand and water is very sad- not just Kata we found the all the Phuket beaches the same, very sad or maybe we are very lucky in NZ to have beautiful rubbish free beaches

Karon Beach was just the right balance of peace and...

Karon Beach was just the right balance of peace and excitement. There were beach chairs and parasols for rent (about 200 baht per day), traditional massage services for a fee, and water sports too. But what I like most was that none of the vendors were pushy. They were there if you wanted them but otherwise you went about your day with no disturbances.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink close to the beach, parking is ample and the sunset is awesome! Two 7/11's provide your chilled wines, beers and spirits. Horse ridding along the beach is worth a go!

Kamala Beach is absolutely beautiful with stunning views! It can get a bit busy, so I recommend arriving early to secure a good spot. Also, make sure to stay hydrated because it gets very hot during the day. Overall, a great beach experience!

Bang Tao is one of the calmer beaches on Phuket, but with enough services/restaurants, etc. to choose from. We were there for a week and it was enough before moving on to somewhere a bit livlier. Restaurants, etc. are generally more expensive here than e.g. Karon beach (less competition).

Friendly Thai people, peaceful environment, and a great location near the new township and Nai Harn Beach—much nicer than the usual Patong area. Plenty of halal food and convenience stores nearby. A perfect healing spot.

Recommendation for restaurants = "My Front Yard" is a new location with several different types of restaurants. Ate at three of them and the food and service was excellent. Recommend "Home Sweet Home" as the close by go to coffee shop.
