We (a family with 2 kids at the age of 6 months / 4 years) had a wonderful stay at The Residence Douz. Amazing rooms, attentive and super child friendly staff. Breakfast was great and we felt very welcome in a positive environment, right next to the Sahara desert. The spa area is great. My best hotel experience in Tunisia so far, we even extended our stay. Thank you!

Staying here with Ali was the highlight of our trip to Tunisia. From the very beginning, an easy going check-in, and relaxed atmosphere with smiles and waves greated us into a stunning and scenic location right by the edge of the desert. We were shown to our rooms which were cleaned well, and had all of the facilities we needed including extra blankets as we went during the cold December months. Ali even had the forethought to pre heat the rooms to a perfect temperature before we went to bed. We went on a dromedary trek about 1 mile into the desert, giving a real feeling of freedom and having a proper desert experience. Ali arrived with us, and set up a fire while we watched the sunset, and then cooked us a delicious meal, including cooking bread in the sand which was prepared incredibly well. Once back, he invited us to chat about our trip, and was just really friendly the whole time we were there. The following day, we took a plunge in the thermal pools which is about a 30 second walk from the site, another example of how perfectly located L'Oasis is I cannot speak highly enough of this incredible experience, and would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat. I only wish we could plan another trip here, sooner, so we can see Ali and his amazing location again!

The owner welcomed us with cake and lemonade, that was very nice. The apartment is large, easily accommodates even for 6 people, furnished in a modern style, 2 bedrooms, living room, bathroom. I liked the bedroom with a double bed, it was comfortable, has a warm interior and a large mirror. The breakfast was really right even with things for vegan. I recommend this host.

Abdula and Momo greeted us and we spent the evening baking bread in the Sahara sand watching the sun go down. The entire place had a super relaxed feel. Thank you Abdula for taking us to meet your family and baby goats ☺️

The hosts were lovely and extremely welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful time, it could not have been better! The garden is beautiful and the perfect place to relax. Additionally, the food in the restaurant was very good and clearly prepared with love and care. For people exploring the south of Tunisia (and birds or other wildlife), the location is great - supermarkets and tank stations nearby in Kebili - while the Sahara, mountains and salt lake are all within an hour drive. I cannot recommend this place enough, and when we return to Tunisia we will for sure visit Dar Barka again!
