The Residence Douz was a wonderful resort, beyond my expectations. It was amazing to be able to relax in the middle of the desert like this. I especially liked the opportunity to experience the Arabic sauna hammam. All the staff, including the manager Mr.Anis Zayana, were very friendly and kind. I will never forget the hospitality of this hotel. Thank you.

Staff were great! Especially Ali - he welcomed us and made bread in the sand. It was cold at night but they provided enough blankets- the bed was comfortable too! Amazing experience :)

The hotel is a real oasi in the desert: the building is huge, with a great pool and our room had a balcony. Everyone from the staff was kind and helpful: we had the chance to book a tour with the camel in the desert directly from the reception (for a very reasonable price, 15€). Breakfast and dinner were included: dinner was not exceptional, but you have a lot of choice (there’s even a guy who makes pizza). Breakfast was great, especially the crepes. Everything was really clean, they change towels and make the bed everyday. Very good value for money.

It was a lovely stay, the location is isolated and quiet, the last house before the desert, so to some it s a good thing, to others is not. We enjoyed beeing close to nature. Mohamed is a lovely host and ha can arrange private camel rides and 4x4 in the desert at very good prices. We did both and loved it and I recomend you do the same, the experience is really really good.

The best accommodation. Brigitte and Mohamed are just fantastic, kind, pleasant, very helpful and amazing. Met them and stayed in their super villa was so precious and rewarding. Just go there and you will experience the beauty!

The hosts were lovely and extremely welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful time, it could not have been better! The garden is beautiful and the perfect place to relax. Additionally, the food in the restaurant was very good and clearly prepared with love and care. For people exploring the south of Tunisia (and birds or other wildlife), the location is great - supermarkets and tank stations nearby in Kebili - while the Sahara, mountains and salt lake are all within an hour drive. I cannot recommend this place enough, and when we return to Tunisia we will for sure visit Dar Barka again!

Everything Great! The apartment is big, spacious, brand new, super equipped. Extremely clean. A great place. The owner is a woman with a huge heart, and with great patience. She does everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I add one last thing; I am usually a model guest, but this time I was unbearable: she was always friendly and understanding. Absolutely recommended.

Had an amazing stay in Douz in a beautiful Ksar room with hot water shower. The place had much character and the beds were unbelievably comfy, perfect after a long day of exploring Sahara. Included small but honest breakfast. Sounds of animals around made our stay more authentic and peaceful. Host honest and communicative, can help you arrange activities around.
