• The Food: Prepare to gain a few pounds because it's impossible to resist! The quality is divine, and the breakfast is to die for, with incredibly fresh products.
• Location: The perfect combination. We were close to everything worth visiting, yet the hotel itself feels like an oasis of tranquility.

we immediately notice that the structure is managed in a family way but with every security (private police always present within the perimeter) and precision.
spacious, comfortable rooms, excellent mattresses, clean bathrooms, mosquito nets on the doors/windows and around the bed.
excellent catering, varied and excellently cooked fish menu. Mineral water, tea, coffee always available.
great advice and contacts for dedicated guides for exclusive private tours but with the right cost.
location just a few minutes walk from the best beaches.

This was bigger than my expectations since I've red really exaggerated and false comments previous to my arrival.
First of all, the room is absolutely perfect with a staff that find very creative way everyday to make you feel good in your room. Perfectly clean and spacious room and bathroom, no problems ever ( that was written) of shower or anything. Not a SINGLE mosquito or insect in the room because of the air conditioning and the cleaning, fridge full of drinks everyday, champagne brought and special attention for my birthday without even telling them !
Incredible staff, kind, smiling, I've never seen such professional and nice people ( Fatima, Paulina, Abu, Cristina, Brenda and so many more), one of the main reason among all others, that our stay was very good ! Pool is incredible, the place is incredible ( beautiful gardens well maintained with flowers and trees), beach is incredible. Yes people come talk to you on the beach, it is a poor country, they try to make money, we are in their country spending our best holidays so instead of complaining, by them something :)
Food was good, the main restaurant Promenade was good, lot of choice, quality, creativity, and never boring. You have other restaurants you need to book in advanced. Once you arrive, do so immediately otherwise you won't be able to go as they are only few spots. Krystal restaurant was really really good !

The room is really beautiful,big enough for us. Equipment in the room is great,AC and vent was working,bed was good. The whole resort was beautiful and big and looked like a new.
Way to the beach is through green yard full of green and lush plants.
Beach is so long, you can choose sunbeds(with umbrella) for free, but they are too many so you have little space between them.
Beautiful beach,great for walks,great for playing sports and great swimming. Friendly Masais at the beach,we had nice chat with them.
Breakfast-they prepare a lot of food for breakfast,but I would say sometimes less is more.
In overall it is great choice if you are looking for nice big place full of people. It is worth the money for sure(we had 3 accomodations so we can compare) you have nice big room,with nice garden and perfect beach.

It was amazing. I had a sea view room and enjoyed the sunset from there every night. It is an accommodation where you can stay all day. You can walk down the stairs barefoot and go for a swim in the warm ocean. The sea is literally in front of the accommodation. If it gets too warm, you can enjoy the calm huge pool in the garden, where there lives a small super cute monkey and a dozen mini antelopes (Dik Dik). It was like a dream for me. The restaurant at the accommodation is open all day long and serves fantastic food. The personnel was exceptionally nice and friendly, very professional and welcoming. The location is also very good, everything like ATM, market, restaurants are super close, and as said the beach is at the doorstep. For me, it can't get any better and I would definitely come back. The resort is wonderful, the cottages and tropical gardens look so beautiful and well-kept. The rooms are large, clean and very comfortable. I had half board and I can say that the food was very diverse and every evening there was a themed dinner and something new compared to the previous days. Very tasty food, many types of meat, fish, vegetables, pasta. Private and well-guarded beach with fine sand and turquoise water. I'm sorry to leave, but I will definitely come back here. About the staff, I can say that they were most professional, welcoming and friendly.

This is a fantastic place to stay at if you want to celebrate a anniversary. Fantastic Villas with a perfect beach you just can dream of, the best at Zanzibar, and it is real. Very kind, amazing and helpful personal, top service and fantastic good food. The Chefs and restaurants are world class and could easily have a Michelin star. You really feel that you are taking care of. They make sure you get the best relaxing stay and experience. Even the Manager is showing up and make sure you have the BEST stay. You just don’t want to leave… We will absolute come back.

This place is Amazing ❤️ The staff go above and beyond for you with their service, So nice and Happy all the time time. we would go on Day trips and be greated with food and drink hampers free of charge to take with us.
The accommodation itself was beautiful, very private and stunning views. It really was a dream come True.
The food was some of the best food I’ve ever Tasted compliments to the chef he is Fantastic.

Nungwi beach is probably the nicest beach I’ve ever seen.
Nungwi beach is probably the nicest beach I’ve ever seen. The sand is powder white. There are a lot of local people trying to sell you things that can be very persistent. The boat trips are spectacular. I highly recommend the dolphins boat trip, star fish, snorkelling and sandbanks trip.

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to Nungwi, especially the south part. Even in low tide it was easy to take a swim. Also the beach here is wider and feel less crowded. As on the complete stretch there were many people trying to sell you stuff but on the south part not so many ”permanent” sales people other than the ones having sheds. The Maasai roaming around are friendly but just say no with a smile and most will not be persistent in their effort to sell you something..

Matemwe is a perfect destination for anyone who wants peace...
Matemwe is a perfect destination for anyone who wants peace and quiet, but still has access to great activities. You can easily arrange dolphin watching and swimming tours – look for Captain Lucho, he helped us with everything and made the experience amazing. A beautiful and relaxing place to stay!

Generally, a lovely and intimate establishment with staff that care for your personal needs. The manager is so friendly and always wants to know how the guests are doing. The most beautiful sunrises. The performances add to the spice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I paid cash on arrival for 11 nights.The hut was very hot...
I paid cash on arrival for 11 nights.The hut was very hot and I wanted to leave the next day, but he would not refund me. I contacted booking.com 2 times, but never heard from them, so I was stuck there. The owner is a preacher and has a congregation just behind the huts, so there is a lot of noice many mornings and evenings and in between someone is practising the piano and he is not good.

If you are looking for white sand beach with the best ocean...
If you are looking for white sand beach with the best ocean waters and minimal tides, Kendwa is the best place in Zanzibar. The beach is the most spacious and greatest on the island and the village provides all the necessities you would need. With many tours and water activities offered on the beach you would hardly need to move anywhere else. It is also a walkable distance to Nungwi during low tide if anyone is interested in a more bustily environment.

Matemwe was nice - the beach part.
Matemwe was nice - the beach part. Sad to see the poverty behind the gates of the hotel. The tides were a bit different from what we have expected as the water would leave the beach at 9am and return around 5pm. If you did not make it to swim early in the morning, you missed it.
We took a reef walk which was beautiful, saw a lot of see creatures, and that was very amazing experience. Also took a boat tour to see the sunset - it was worth the trip.
Did not like how the locals would just stop on the beach and start shouting at you to buy smth. Also the part of the hotel beach is not segregated in any way, which does not give you a privacy enough.
The food was amazing though - the hotel goes much beyond - and all day brekfast concept was amazing.

The nearby beaches are scenic, but there are some important things to consider. The ocean is full of sea urchins, making swimming risky without proper footwear. During the day, low tide pulls the water far from the shore, so swimming may not always be possible. If you walk toward the reef, expect to be approached frequently by local beach vendors, which can feel intrusive — especially when you're clearly not carrying money. Local security presence is minimal, so don't expect much intervention in these situations. It's best to come prepared and manage your expectations if you're looking for a peaceful swim.

Beautiful beach with a decent selection of restaurants and bars.
I loved the Fish Market restaurant and kept going back.
Amazing blue sea, powder soft sand and great location for sunset.
As a female solo traveller I didn’t like constant hassle from men dressed as Masai.

The sea and beach with super soft and white sand are...
The sea and beach with super soft and white sand are absolutely fabulous and relatively clean. I got bitten by sand fleas on my legs because I spend a lot of time in the sea and walked barefoot. There is a lot of informal trade on the beach by locals trying to sell something. Maybe even more so if you are a woman walking alone.
