What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

Tembo House has a very good location, near the seaside and very close to the Freddie Mercury museum! It has a private access to the beach with confortable seats. Everything! If there is one hotel to stay in Stone Town, it has to be Dhow Palace. This hotel is so stunning. The moment we stepped in, we are in awe. It's so pretty. I just wanted to take pictures of everything.The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We were given the Jahazi room at the top floor. This is the perfect room. It's on the top floor and we have our own little courtyard to hang out. There is a staircase that leads to the roof and we sat there and look at the stars. It was perfect. There is something to discover at every floor. And our bathroom has an open roof. So in the night you shower under the stars. How cool. The hotel is very well maintained and we have everything we need in our room. Great location and it's close to everything. There's an Ethopian restaurant just down the road and the food is really good. We would highly recommend! Wifi was working great, no issues for us.
