Everything was excellent! The hotel is very clean and tidy. It opened recently, so everything looks very modern. I loved the design of the lobby and the room. The lobby had a pool table, coffee, and tea. We even managed to do our laundry in the laundry room located on the first floor. Highly recommend it to everyone!

My partner and I stayed for 3 wonderful nights whilst attending our sons graduation at the nearby Young Harris College. Having travelled from England we arrived late at night to be greeted by Garrett who was friendly and informative, this I now understand to be the wonderful Southern hospitality everyone mentions which we also experienced from all the reception & Oaks staff, especially the 2 lovely ladies who served us breakfast. (Sorry we didn't get to see you on our last day, we slept in late then had to rush off) Our room was spacious & comfortable, I didn't use the AC as I find it plays havoc with my breathing so opted for the large ceiling fan which was ample for our needs. The bed was so huge you need a sat nav to move around it :) We met a lovely couple in the Oaks bar who mentioned to us that the building will be going through a makeover which is possibly well needed however I had no complaints to make about the decor. We spent quite a lot of time in the gardens and on the pier with beautiful views of the mountains & lake. Overall we had an excellent stay which was possibly one of the finest of my 57 years on this Earth.

From the girls who welcome you, they are very friendly, very receptive and try to find options for you. The rooms are quite large and the bathroom is a bit small. The location is excellent, very close to downtown. It is not a 5 star hotel and it needs to be upgraded but it is really worth it, we would come back.

the town is typical of other towns of its size. The Biltmore and its theme are to me what draws people to this area. There are some great places to see and visit, some special places to dine and for those who love to shop Treager Mall, and other shops are close by. 2 small but very delightful places to eat that were just a short hop from where we stayed was EGGS RANCHERO and Pie.Zaa, (pizza). Both were an experience. Great food and staff.

Helen, GA is a really cute little town.

Helen, GA is a really cute little town. We wanted to go at Christmas-due to all the things we had heard about it being a "Christmas Town". I'm glad we did. We stayed in Riverbend Hotel-perfect location. We just went for the weekend. We were able to just park and walk up and down Main St. We ate at 2 really good restaurants. Also, we got to see the Helen Town Christmas Parade-very good parade! I would have to say, I personally wouldn't go for longer then a weekend-unless you want to drive to other places-as Helen is really small-and not much to do...but for a weekend? Perfect!! (Anna Ruby Falls is a must see-breathtaking!)

I was at Cherokee for the Cherokee Invitational Basketball tournament. The tournament was held inside the gym at Harrah's hotel and Casino. Boone was very beautiful with the snow covered mountains and snow covered buildings. Icicles hanging in the trees. Dress for freezing weather thick coat, scarf, hat, gloves and thick socks. I was toasty even with the wind whipping by. We shopped the day after graduation and everything was easy to find. We are ate at Chili’s but it was less than desirable. I have a no salt diet but my meal was loaded with salt. I brought the steak home for my dog, so he thought it was good! Wish we had went to Daniel Boone Inn or a steak house.

I really liked it, but I would need to visit again to really look around and visit the sites. I only traveled there to go to Buc-Ees. Didn't know that it was game day for the University, so next year, I may make it an entire weekend to visit the sites and get a ticket to the game.

Whether or not you are taking the Smoky Mountain railway or just looking for a nice small town to visit, Bryson City is a great place to get away to. There are quite a few nice shops, restaurants and breweries to visit while you are there. If you are into Christmas, this is definitely the place to go staring in November when the entire town seems to get into the spirit of the holiday.

I enjoyed the Old Town section with interesting shops and restaurants, the visitor center had helpful staff and information, right next to the historic Abrams delight home. The museum of the Shenandoah looked great and I wish I had time to check it out, But I did walk the trails around it and appreciated the woods and meadows as well as the clever play areas for kids, The setting for the museum was well planned, surrounded by hills and pasture (with cows), maintaining a sense of what the land was like years ago, Many historic buildings it this charming town.

My daughter flew to Pittsburgh and our trip began with a two day stop in Lancaster before heading to Hagerstown. She was so delighted at how beautiful and well organized the visitors center was and how well staff it was with such knowledgeable individuals who are incredibly invested in their jobs as they share fascinating yet horrific stories of the loss of so many lives as mostly men fought to make the changes needed for this country to become the start of the nation that we know today. Actually seeing graves and fields so vividly described as they were transformed into mass murder scenes. We all left the area sad, yet so thankful to all of the men who fought and died for all of us. The area around the battlefields and memorials is easy to walk and full of interesting shops and beautiful scenery.
