AustraliaThe room was so cosy, warm, and very clean. We were in rm 305 which had lots of space, 2 little rocking chairs, a huge very comfy bed, a little fridge, also nice hot shower. Best sleep I've had in ages. Easy check in and out, and communication with staff and owner was easy (very important when coming in from overseas). Happily recommend this place, and will definitely stay here again next time we're in town.

For the price point this is an exception hotel,it was what hotels were before chain hotels,I loved it,it brought me back to a time before smart phones ,when people gathered around the fireplace after a day skiing and just enjoyed the time away,huge lobby with great sitting areas,was it dated....who cares,it was an experience that was prior to the the worst invention ever made .....the cell phone.
Two pools ,large rooms,friendly people, I can not say enough about this hotel except I wish I had seen it when I was young because it would have been a destination in Stowe,you can still see the grandure of that still today and I think it's spectacular

If I could rate The Little River Inn an 11 out of 10, I would.
It's just a beautiful place to stay with a walk through the gorgeous living room and out to the back "garden" down to the river. So peaceful.
Stowe is a perfect piece of the Earth and Vermont is as beautiful as it promises.
The Inn is full of a million touches of class from the bedroom to the home booked breakfast in the morning.
One of the nicest places you might ever stay.

Top notch is one of my favourite places to stay!! You can feel instantly how staff wants to ensure a perfect experience, the rooms are very clean, the food is great in the restaurant (kuddos to the chef). The beds are very comfortable and the pool facilities are excellent.

Fantastic location - perfect for the reason for our travel (beer/breweries!). Everything we needed was in walking distance. Super helpful staff for sorting out a taxi to Waterbury. Rooms were super clean, warm, and pleasant!

We have visited the area many times, and this time was for a specific overnight event.
Regarding Montpelier proper, there is little to do or see: the capitol is worth a visit, but requires little time. Despite what we read in a recent chamber of commerce publication, this is not a place for gastronomy: there is a good, but hardly noteworthy, Italian restaurant, and some small familiar ethnic places that we have never tried. The remaining choices are OK, serviceable. One recommendation would be the Capital Gound, for breakfast or lunch. Good coffee.
The city is well placed for touring central VT.

The White Horse Inn was wonderful! Very comfortable and clean. Bob And Allen are great owners! Location was perfect...quiet but yet accessible to Killington and Stowe. Would definitely stay here again! Frank & Linda

How they lie and then charge you extra.
How they lie and then charge you extra. After giving an honest review they charge me stating I smoked in the room. On camera”if they even worked” you can see I was outside. Lied about my cigarette waste was not in their trash. They do not provide trash outside. Slept horrible waking up at 2 am with the room at 85 degrees. And lights kept flickering. At least if your going to scam me- use the money wisely to fix up your place. Not even mentioned my in laws room was horrible and worse than mine.

Went to Emily's covered bridge.
Went to Emily's covered bridge. On the way back down was spectacular views! Don't forget the gondola ride up Mt. Mansfield as well as the toll road. Getting around was easy as most things were on the main strip. We ate at many places but was sticker shocked on food prices. I don't mind spending but some things were WAY overpriced! All in all it was a fun relaxing trip after getting a room. The first place wasn't accessible so we went across the street and luckily they had a room for us.. Money was refunded for the other place and they apologized.

Basic, somewhat Spartan accommodations in an older building.. Quiet, with few other guests. Cordial staff. Everything worked OK, but the stairs to my room were steep and narrow. Very nice front porch for sitting and conversation, on site parking, easy walk into center of Montpelier. Restaurant was closed during my visit.

Waitsfield is exactly how I pictured a small New England...
Waitsfield is exactly how I pictured a small New England town should look. It has adorable shops, a farmer's market, and some good restaurant options. We had delicious steak at the Hyde Away Inn, and beer at Lawson's Finest Liquids. Our stay at the Mad River Lodge was comfortable, in a lovely setting just outside of town. We were in the area for the Mad River Marathon, which is challenging, but scenic.

Harrisons is best for steak, venison and rack of lamb. Outstanding atmosphere

Have been to Montpelier area several times but this was not a vacation trip it was a bereavement. All of Vermont is beautiful and feel lucky to have visited there so many times in the past with my sister.
