Excellent late find while travelling from Canada and our Anniversary. Nice boutique hotel with smallish but very well appointed and clean. Was very quiet and home-like. Excellent Restaurant on site (Sego) that we had an amazing dinner. If you’re looking for a historical, homey place, we would highly recommend.

Very unique. It was fabulous. The airstream was so cool and made us smile. Everything worked great. Hot tub is a nice touch. Loved our time there. The heaters helped but was a cold night so a bit chilly but thanks for the extra blankets. The dog park was perfect. Whiskey loved it

FAQs about hotels in Grand Canyon

Sculpted by Nature

The awe-inspiring Grand Canyon stands testament to the sculpting power of nature. Over millennia the Colorado River has carved its way through over 250 miles of multi-layered rock and now lies over 1 mile below the canyon rim.

The majority of hotels near the Grand Canyon are in historic Flagstaff, in a valley overlooked by mountains. Part of legendary Route 66 runs through here and continues to Seligman where you can still get your kicks and a good helping of kitsch. Between them is Williams, from where trains depart to Grand Canyon Village, home to some impressive South Rim lookouts.

The closest Grand Canyon South Rim hotels on Booking.com are in Tusayan, from whose airport plane and helicopter rides take off. The moment you cross the canyon rim and see the ground suddenly drop away is absolutely breathtaking.

More aircraft are in Valle museum to the south, while west is sleepy Peach Springs, capital of the Hualapai native people, through whose territory the Grand Canyon passes. Also on their land is the Skywalk where a U-shaped platform extends over the canyon, offering wonderful views of this Natural Wonder of the World as it gleams in the sun.

On the opposite side is the less-visited Grand Canyon North Rim and its closest hotels are found in Kanab in Utah.

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who needs to stay in Flagstaff (despite the 20-mile drive), or who is just driving through. Very good quality room and hotel for just $100! My room was full 4-star quality, clean, well-maintained. At about 360 sqft, large enough for a couple with a young child. Zenith Steakhouse offers very good USDA Prime steaks at modest prices. I am a professional hotelier, and my Asian resort, Plantation Bay, “a Real Resort with a Real Spa”, also serves top-quality steaks including Japanese A5 and USDA Prime, so I have some expertise on this subject. For $70 Zenith offers a 16 ounce ribeye that was carefully charbroiled (not infrared cooked), delivering the characteristic rich sweetness of top-quality American beef. I’ve eaten at many renowned steakhouses around the US (Niku, Peter Luger, CUT), and Zenith’s beef is better, at a 30% lower price.

I had booked a non-refundable room, so when the train cancelled on us The Greentree still worked with us--they did not have to. We have stayed with them in the past and were very pleased with the comfort of our room, how quiet it was, how convenient the establishment is, the excellent breakfast, AND how friendly the staff was!! Nothing bad to say about this hotel.

Flagstaff is a charming town filled with warmth and cheery holiday decorations this time of year. Traffic is not awful, and the people are friendly. There are lots of restaurants, good places to have breakfast, terrific pizza parlors, and interesting things to do , especially if you take advantage of what NAU has to offer. The weather is always lovely when we’re in Flag.

There is a lot to see in Williams, Arizona. The downtown area is very easy to walk around. The restaurants are a little overpriced but it's a tourist town. The highlight has to be the Grand Canyon Railroad Depot complex. It was a great train ride to the canyon and walking around the depot to see all the old trains on display was a big plus. We would definitely ride the train again and come back to Williams when we had more time.

Seligman, AZ, is on a stretch of what remains of the historic Route 66 that ran from Chicago, IL, to California. It literally draws folks from around the world who want to see this remaining part of the romantic road that has been featured in both television and movies. Definitely visit Westside Lilos cafe, great food and great people.

Peach Springs is amazing with plenty of panoramic views, especially the grand canyon west tour that comes with general admission to the area. If you go, just pay for the overpriced sky walk experience. Although it's a bit too expensive, given there are other free views, it's a must do if you're making the trip anyway. Don't stay at the Haupia Cabins; they're not good. Instead, you may want to stay in nearby Kingman, AZ and drive in to Grand Canyon West. This is a better option, trust me!
