The Betty Ford Gardens are amazing and beautifully done.
The Betty Ford Gardens are amazing and beautifully done. Could have spent much more time there. Once parking was figured out, public transportation was an easy way to get around town. Visitors center staff was great for getting oriented to town. Lots of shopping and amazing places to eat and explore. One day does not do justice to all there is to do in Vail in any season.Guest review byDonnaUnited States - 10.0
Vail is my happy place.
Vail is my happy place. I've been going up from Denver in the summer (and winter) since the 70's. I love the trails, restaurants, town, hotels...Everything (except maybe the expense). Getting around vail is so easy with the bus system, walking or a car for hikes and trails further out. Plenty to do winter and summer with events and such.Guest review byKroll - 10.0
My own experience at Vail may be different than others.
My own experience at Vail may be different than others. First, we saw little to no crowds at least Mon-Fri on either the Eagle Bahn Gondola or Gondola One. Second, it snowed at least a little bit almost every day/night of our visit so there was a lot of soft snow up the mountain for us to enjoy. Even though my physical condition didn't allow me to traverse the whole resort, it was pretty clear that there is a lot of terrain for intermediate and advanced skiers. For beginners, I would be concerned that most of the actual green runs are "catwalks" or transportation corridors that are used by all skiers. These runs may not be as steep as the Blues, but they are also very narrow and often crowded with skiiers going much faster. Intermediate skiiers should not be intimidated by the "Legendary Back Bowls." Some of those bowls are actually quite moderate in terms of difficulty and everything is extremely well-marked and all lift-served Vail is expensive. Everything is expensive, not just the lift tickets. I would recommend only visiting if you get an EPIC pass. The discount is really quite dramatic and you get discounts on all mountain venues like restaurants with that EPIC Pass I was especially impressed by the technology used by the resort to share information with the guests. At your fingertips (mobile phone) you have trail maps(including which trails have been groomed)) lift wait times, your own personal stats, etc. Fantastic.Guest review byRichardUnited States
