I loved downtown Burlington, especially the pedestrian-only street and the selection of stores. We had lunch at Splash on the waterfront and just loved how close it was to the water. We visited the Shelburne museum one day and the Shelburne Farm the next day and found both fascinating and beautiful. I and my 3 friends were just blown away by both places and would highly recommend visiting them if you’re a lover of American art and history.Guest review byScrivensUnited States - 8.0
Went to Emily's covered bridge.
Went to Emily's covered bridge. On the way back down was spectacular views! Don't forget the gondola ride up Mt. Mansfield as well as the toll road. Getting around was easy as most things were on the main strip. We ate at many places but was sticker shocked on food prices. I don't mind spending but some things were WAY overpriced! All in all it was a fun relaxing trip after getting a room. The first place wasn't accessible so we went across the street and luckily they had a room for us.. Money was refunded for the other place and they apologized.Guest review byRickUnited States - 8.0
I am primarily a Colorado skier.
I am primarily a Colorado skier. I enjoyed Killington and it is within 6 hours so I will be back. Lift tickets are only sold on-line. The pickup process is simple and fast but the ticket areas are not visible from the road. Take it on faith that there are ticket dispensers servicing every large parking lot. The abundance of ticketing locations eliminates long lines early in the morning. The resort is typical of eastern skiing. The mountains are lower (4k vs 12k) so the runs are shorter which impacts the ski vs lift time. The areas are narrower and tend more toward cat tracks than open vistas. Tunnels provide a method for one trail to cross under another and skiers don't need to worry about cross traffic. Ice can form at the tunnel exit so be mindful. Snow conditions were good the first day and, due to overnight snow that returned in late morning, we had fresh powder to deep powder on the second day. There was occasional ice but in general conditions were good to very good. In the secluded open areas among the trees the snow was knee to waist deep and very loose. I skied on Monday and Tuesday and there were few people on the mountain. The trails were uncrowded and most lifts were ski up and get on. Even popular lifts like the gondola covered chair (chute lift) had two to four groups in line at any given time. I expect the weekends and holidays are more difficult. I was there for 2 days and would have stayed longer but temps went from the 20-30 range to the -2 to +10 range. Wind in both cases. Due to a medical issue I get cold easily and therefore don't ski in really cold conditions.Guest review byGlennUnited States - 2.0
Breakfast was great but not enough.
Breakfast was great but not enough. Staff was rude disrespectful and unprofessional. Too expensive laundry room was small and dryer took too long. 11 large spiders on 4th floor bc of spiders eggs all over the windows that were open. Shower head had a loud squealing sound. Nice beds and linens were soft and amazingGuest review byTravis CaviolaItaly - 10.0

We where there for a wedding at the Wilburton Inn and Aspen Inn was a close by2 nights . The 2 nights were great Little Rooster Cafe for Breakfast and Lunch was truly a 5 star one of the best places I have had, try there Black Russian Sandwich for sure. I would pass on the Mulligans Restaurant and Pub, the fish and chips were over cooked and like mush. It was the worse Fish and Chips I have ever had. There were 7 if us and none of the main dish were good only the Salad dishes were edible. Just an FYI, the restaurant everyone recommend was closed for 2 nights :-(Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Amtrak station stop right on Main St., Variety of restaurants and values for both the vacationing couple and a family. Vermont Salvage is an interesting place to walk through and marvel at all the great merchandise which is organized very well. Variety of small shops, thrift stores, live music in some of the restaurants, brewery, small parks, pleasant friendly people.Guest review byBethUnited States - 10.0
First time to Vermont and we loved it.
First time to Vermont and we loved it. Rutland is adorable, however this time of year, many restaurants were closed 2-3 days a week. It was a girls trip, but will be back next fall with hubby. Shout out to Bailey’s Place for food and Trivia with TJ was a hoot! They have a designated fryer for those of us with celiac, so that was a real treat. We walked downtown trying to find as many of the murals and sculptures we could, and used Rutland as a base for all our day trips. Their location was central to them all. Don’t miss Wilson’s Castle and enjoy as many Creemies as you can find!Guest review bySusanUnited States - 8.0

We have visited the area many times, and this time was for a specific overnight event. Regarding Montpelier proper, there is little to do or see: the capitol is worth a visit, but requires little time. Despite what we read in a recent chamber of commerce publication, this is not a place for gastronomy: there is a good, but hardly noteworthy, Italian restaurant, and some small familiar ethnic places that we have never tried. The remaining choices are OK, serviceable. One recommendation would be the Capital Gound, for breakfast or lunch. Good coffee. The city is well placed for touring central VT.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
It was a great place to sleep.
It was a great place to sleep. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. It was inexpensive as well. It isn't a fancy place but it was just a place to sleep when we got back from exploring the area.Guest review byChuck YUnited States
