Ideally located in the quickly developing city of Ha Long, The modern contemporary design along with the cleanliness of this place was phenomenal. The staff as in all of Vietnam were helpful, resourceful and professional, showing true far eastern hospitality and politeness. Breakfast menu was varied and suited many pallets. Beautiful sky bar next to the infinity pool in 25th floor was the icing on the cake. £45 a night lived like kings and queens

Everything was great. Certainly the best hotel in Halong I appreciated the transfer by boat from the mainland to the private island. The location is very convenient, the hotel room and amenities is spacious. The staff are accomodating and nice. We left our AirPods in our room and they arranged a drop off to give it back to us cause we are now in Hanoi before we leave the country. Was very positively surprised by the overall quality of this hotel. Super roomy and luxorious for something like 38eur for two. Probably reduced a bit due to the shoulder-season, but this was definitely the best hotel of our 2.5w in vietnam.

Yen Tu is a mountain area with a highest peak of over 1000 meters. Hiking to Yen Tu Mountain is a fantastic and spiritual experience. You will see a lot of old temples of more than 700 years, which gives you a feeling back in ancient time.

The karsts are beautiful, and can easily be viewed from shore without the need to do a boat tour. The tourism is a "wild-west" scenario, with the natural environment taking a pounding. There's trash in the water, hordes of people crammed onto literally hundreds of boats and ships, diesel permeates the air... It's a tourist trap money grab done poorly! I hear Cat Ba Island is more scenic, natural, and unspoiled. Maybe that's a better option. We WOULD NOT return to Ha Long Bay,

The downside is the transportation to + forth.

The downside is the transportation to + forth. We bought tickets on a shuttle van from Hanoi. There must be better options but the resort doesn't offer transportation services. So, you either hire a private car at $100 USD one way or pay $12 USD one way for a seat on a shuttle van. These vans will pick people up on their way as well as cargo so priority is whoever or whatever comes first. It took 3.5 Hours from Hanoi + 4 hours on thew way back. Drivers are OK but they can be extremely aggressive on the road to meet their timeframe.

It was off peak so not everywhere was open. Some of the streets were deserted. However the boat trip was really good, busy but not as busy as in peak season when it must be too busy! The boats all go to the same places so the sea is just filled with boats which slightly detracts from the experience . We did enjoy our boat trip and our boat was lovely and had loads of space and not too many people! Maybe around 20 of us but spread over 3 decks, so loads of space!

The service was excellent, comfort of the room, bed particularly, balcony with the view to the pool and green. The surrounding nature is fabulous if you like nature. Just exploring and walk around the compound and village is nice thing to do. There were horses, would be nice if they are more taken care for, and activity of horse riding around the nature with guide would be a plus.
