You cannot beat the location of this hotel. We took an executive suite and had magnificent views of the peaks. But, these views can be seen from many positions within the hotel. The room was perfect. The food is excellent, especially considering that they are producing it in large quantities. Restaurant staff were very attentive. There are many hikes ranging from easy to strenuous and so there's plenty to keep you occupied. They also offer guided walks, horse rides etc. It is my fourth stay here, and I hope I'll return many more times.

Stayed with family of 10 in 5 Bedroom manor. It is a beautiful home in the mountains. Large dining and lounge area with deck overlooking mountains and hot water splash pool. Very well furnished and designed en suite rooms. Very private with Air conditions and fireplace. Have vacationed extensively in the berg with family. This was by far the most comfortable and memorable. The last few kilometres to resort was a bit challenging however if you drive carefully it’s manageable. All the staff were excellent. Congratulations to management.

Our house offered a breathtaking view of the Amphitheater and Tugela River, making it a truly peaceful retreat. The space is comfortable and cozy, with nothing but the soothing sound of birds to be heard. The hospitality and welcome were fantastic, and Heather, the owner, made us feel right at home. A perfect spot for relaxation and enjoying nature’s beauty.

The rooms were perfect and wealth the price. And the breakfast and desert were delicious, the dinner was fine not bad. we enjoyed the game room and our Saturday Karaoke with our lovely DJ. The staff was amazing and friendly Mr Maphalala and Mluleki. less than 20min walk to the water fall you can take your kids too

The accommodation over the lake was mesmerising, especially the sunsets. Even though there were power cuts (frequently), the place had gas stove and gas hot wet systems which was perfect.

Excellent location so much to do. The views were breath taking. People are friendly and welcoming. Excellent facilities. Security was excellent. No medical facilities near by almost stepped on a puff adder while walking on a path. More information on emergencies for snake bites required. Will definitely visit soon. Overall an excellent and magical destination.

We paid R17k for 4 nights at Fairways self catering and could not get fresh towels, the beds are uncomfy, the fireplace didn't work well, there isn't much for the kids to do when it's raining and cold. We booked for dinner only to be told they don't cater for kids and there's no other restaurant open. The jacuzzi temperatures are set way too high and ended up burning my skin. The only heated pool for kids gets too crowded, another heated pool for kids would be great.

The Thokozi restaurant and Deli, good food and a nice variety.
Sandra se Winkel was an experience - well worth going to when you are in the area.

This is a quaint small town village in the Natal midlands.
This is a quaint small town village in the Natal midlands. There are farmer's supply stores, amazing homesteads, a variety of schools, and with proximity to the Drakensburg resorts, and good springboard into the mountains.

The location is excellent .
The location is excellent . Close enough to sani pass and close to underberg where there are many activities like tubing and hiking . Abundant in bird life . Many eating places , some are excellent fine dining places and others were little family owned diners . Highly recommended is B”s Bistro in underberg . Delicious food , stunning scenery and extremely kind and warm owner B and Rob the chef .

Beautiful part of the country. Short drive to Nottingham Road, Spar, petrol station. It rained while we were there so we didn't get a chance to walk around. Breakfast was excellent, staff were very friendly and the room was lovely. We missed the TV but there is one in the lounge by reception

The various accommodation options make it perfect for couples and families.
Huge grounds allow you to get away for some peace and quiet if you want, but we did not feel overwhelmed by people and the place was full.
You can either go and feed carrots to the horses or take a short drive to one of the many attractions in the area.
