- From US$259.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 646 reviewsStunning location right in the mountains. The private honeymoon suite was outstanding. It was a separate, spacious bungalow furnished in a luxurious African style with sliding doors leading onto a private patio that faced the mountains. We could lie outside on loungers or lie in bed and look onto the uninterrupted view of the mountains. The room had a private bathroom with bath and shower, a dressing room, desk, lounge area, fridge and coffee/tea facilities. All were spotlessly clean and of a very high standard. The staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming and the food! The food was so delicious. There wasn’t a single meal I didn’t like, and they made all our favourite desserts! We had a lovely Swedish massage at the Wellness Centre which left us feeling very relaxed.Guest review byHirschAustralia
- From US$63.47 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 256 reviewsEverything! Exceptional hosts - Ruhan, Charmaine, Garth, Jane are just amazing. Lake Naverone is an exceptional place and by far our favourite place to stay in South Africa. Don't let the 3* fool you, this is a 6* venue, 7* people and experience and deserving of a booking.com award every, single year. Well done to the owners on selecting such an incredible team, we cannot wait to go back. Hiking, fishing, river picnics and walks. Horse riding, tubeing, natural pool swims, views galore and endless exploring - nature at its best! Be warned there are no TVs and little wifi/internet and for excellent reason... spend quality time with your loved ones and leave technology alone. This place deserves all of your attention!Guest review byLloydSouth Africa
- From US$86.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,214 reviewsStayed with family of 10 in 5 Bedroom manor. It is a beautiful home in the mountains. Large dining and lounge area with deck overlooking mountains and hot water splash pool. Very well furnished and designed en suite rooms. Very private with Air conditions and fireplace. Have vacationed extensively in the berg with family. This was by far the most comfortable and memorable. The last few kilometres to resort was a bit challenging however if you drive carefully it’s manageable. All the staff were excellent. Congratulations to management.Guest review byEdris MoosaSouth Africa
- From US$87.02 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,883 reviewsThis tranquil gem of a place was such a beautiful experience. There is so much activities for both kids and adults. Breakfast and dinner buffets were amazing! Everything you need is on the resort, even diesel and petrol right outside the boom! My 8 month old had a ball of a time and the serving staff in the Eagles restaurant showed him so much love, all the time. There was a baby chair for us at each meal which was so convenient. Thank you Gooderson Drakensberg Resort, we will most certainly be back!Guest review byNicoleVietnam
- From US$111.37 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,581 reviewsWe loved everything. The lodge was so clean and had all the things we needed. The kitchen was very well equiped . The view at the terrace and the balcony was stunning. We also have to admit that the food in the restaurant was DELICIOUS (especially lamb chops and red velvet). We tried some activities like the kart, massage and some of the surroundings hike and everything was nice. The most important, the staff was lovely ! We have an incredible stay thanks !Guest review byDianaFrance
- From US$122.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 356 reviewsWe stayed 3 nights at the bushman lodge with our two daughters, age 2 and 4. In the five weeks we’ve travelled the country, this accommodation was high in our top 3. It’s remote, but it’s spacious rooms and balcony with jacuzzi, the tranquillity of nature, the views, delicious food, etc, the whole family loved it. The photos do not do justice to the lodge, it’s more beautiful. Thanks Gareth!Guest review byReinierNetherlands

The gardens are perfectly landscaped and beckon you to explore them more. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk beside a stream that led to a beautiful waterfall. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The interior design is impressive.Guest review byTombsBotswana

Excellent location so much to do.
Excellent location so much to do. The views were breath taking. People are friendly and welcoming. Excellent facilities. Security was excellent. No medical facilities near by almost stepped on a puff adder while walking on a path. More information on emergencies for snake bites required. Will definitely visit soon. Overall an excellent and magical destination.Guest review byvernonSouth Africa - 8.0

We had lunch at the pig and plough, nice menu - slow service, however, we still enjoyed the food and the venue. The Thokozi restaurant and Deli, good food and a nice variety. Sandra se Winkel was an experience - well worth going to when you are in the area.Guest review bySimon Stewart BWBotswana - 10.0

This is a quaint small town village in the Natal midlands. There are farmer's supply stores, amazing homesteads, a variety of schools, and with proximity to the Drakensburg resorts, and good springboard into the mountains.Guest review byRodneySouth Africa - 8.0
Bergville is 'n pragtige plekkie.
Bergville is 'n pragtige plekkie. Soos met alle plekke in Suid Afrika tans, is die pad na en van Berville, vol slaggate en so ook in die dorp. Dit ten spyt, is dit die moeite werd om daarlangs te reis.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0

Electricity cut of many times during our stay due to the switch tripping. Drain clogged in shower. Carpets not vacuumed but only swept with a broom, which was evident in our continuous sneezing upon entering the room. Geyser switch tripped on checkout day and therefore we could not shower in our room. Rooms need to be better maintained and cleaned.Guest review byDevadasaSouth Africa - 10.0

There are several resorts and a number of smaller accommodations in this picturesque valley, a hotspot for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts. It is close to the famous Sani Pass, where 4X4 enthusiasts can ascend one of the highest and most scenic trails in Southern Africa. The town has charming shops and eateries, and many of the resorts offer a host of activities, restaurants and outdoor adventure options.Guest review byT_M_S_MSouth Africa - 8.0
Beautiful part of the country.
Beautiful part of the country. Short drive to Nottingham Road, Spar, petrol station. It rained while we were there so we didn't get a chance to walk around. Breakfast was excellent, staff were very friendly and the room was lovely. We missed the TV but there is one in the lounge by receptionGuest review byAnonymousSouth Africa - 10.0

The drive there on a Friday and back to gauteng on a Sunday was peaceful, relaxed and meditative. The farmstalls are great stops even better than fuel stations for tasty biltong and home made food and south african made soaps and lotions. This road trip was so much funGuest review bySlosh
