The room was a bit like a luxury micro tel. Very well thought out layout. Smart TV so that you can watch prime or Netflix. Delicious cookies in the room to go with tea or coffee. The shower was delightful. Excellent bath and soap products. Very well decorated. Very friendly staff. The room included a beer tasting - as it is located by the brewery. We had an absolutely fantastic stay at both Hunters Country Lodge and Tsala Treetop Lodge in Plettenberg Bay. Nestled in beautifully manicured gardens and lush forest canopies, these lodges offer a serene and luxurious escape that exceeded all our expectations.Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of — from the cozy fireplace in the room to the delicious homemade treats delivered each evening. We were surprised with charming little gifts and poetic notes on our pillow every night — a truly personal and heartwarming touch. With three excellent restaurants to choose from, the culinary experience was outstanding. The food was delicious, and the wine list impressive. The decor throughout both properties is tasteful, elegant, and exquisitely curated. But above all, it was the exceptional staff who made our stay truly unforgettable. Warm, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile — nothing was too much to ask. Their dedication to guest comfort and genuine hospitality left a lasting impression. We will most certainly be back! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a refined and soul-soothing getaway.

What a wonderful stay — but far too short. During our trip along the Garden Route, we absolutely wanted to do a game drive, so we booked one night here. But take our advice: one night here is simply not enough. To fully experience this place, you actually need at least two, maybe even three nights. Anyway, for anyone looking for a true safari experience in the western part of South Africa, there’s only one thing to say: Botlierskop is absolutely the right choice. Of course, it’s not Kruger — but hey, you know that in advance, and this reserve is clearly very well managed, and sustainably too. As for the accommodation: absolutely fantastic. Extremely spacious tented lodges with every imaginable comfort — and what views! We stayed in one of the lower lodges overlooking a pond where rhinos and buffaloes came to drink, just a few meters below us — truly breathtaking. The 3.5-hour game drive at sunset was educational and perfectly guided by Mel. The fact that we didn’t see lions didn’t matter at all — the rhinos, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, wildebeests, giraffes and zebras more than made up for it. Finally, the staff were friendly and discreet — what more could you ask for? We’ll definitely be back, next time with our children. Thank you!

What an excellent idea to book this magical place for one night. Chris the owner, was in Heidelberg by chance, met us and drove ahed of us to the villa. He gave us a great tour around the large property, which was a good idea, because the weather turned for the worse and we wouldn't have seen these beautiful vistas on the day of departure. Chris told us that he and his neighbour take good care of these large parcels of land, which mostly remain off bounds to tourists, are kept in their natural state and all non-indigenous trees are being removed. Our grandkids loved the villa's music-room and the biljart table. We all enjoyed being in this quiet, peaceful property that was filled with the owner's pieces of art, gathered from all or the world. We really felt that we were staying in someone's private home instead of in a holiday rental. Of course, as always, the big mistake was ,only book it for one night...

We stayed at Eco Camp, this means that you sleep inside a tent, comfortable but suitable to more warm temperature, than it was during our accommodation. It was cold for us but tolerable. The main attraction was daily driving with Qiu (hope that pronunciation is right) with an aim to find "any animal that moves". And we found almost all of them... And we eat three times a day (too much). The food was excellent, thanks to a chef. The atmosphere in the camp was very friendly, The fynbos is marvelous. marvelous. Very nice experience.

Nice clean rooms, beautiful poolarea and a super nice pool bar, very good dinner and breakfast and service was great. The safari was really nice as well as the guide. If you are looking for safari in the Cape Town area this was definitely worth the drive. We went to Aquila Game park the week after and Garden route game lodge was much nicer.

The most compelling reason to visit Knysna, has to be nature. This includes various beaches, forest walks ad the touristy hotspots. The central centre of Knysna is somewhat run down and looks like an area best avoided, also from a personal security perspective. Thesen Island and the waterfront areas, as well as leisure island and the Heads, are all worthwhile. Using Knysna as a base for visiting the surrounding areas is also great, as drives tend to be short.

Lovely area.

Lovely area. We visited Santos Beach which is a blue flag beach. Wonderful white sand. Free parking, sun shades and toilets. We ate in the Santos Express Train cafe and were lucky enough to have a tour of the train accommodation. Very nice. We also visited Mossel Zipline, the longest zipline over the ocean, in the world. A must for thrill seekers.

Enjoyed the Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour, the guides were so friendly, had loads of fun! Marilyn's 60's Diner - lovey restaurant definitely worth a visit. Albertinia is a small country town without the big fast food...

Albertinia is a small country town without the big fast food take aways . Very rural . You can buy the basics at one of the cafes or Pizza place . There is not much as far as shops go so it is a stopover to break a long journey or a week or two of total peace and quite without too many modern day interruptions. There is a braai area and all you could want to have to have an enjoyable stop and a good night's sleep and no rush to get you out in the morning .. I simply bought rolls and cold meat and yogurt at Piet se kafee as I did not want to cook . Coffee is provided although if to a heavy coffee drinker you may want to buy a bit extra as most guest houses only give you enough for two or three cups of coffee . I had a nice chat with the owner who told me about the abundance of underground water and about the area in general...This is not a property where you can come in and drink and party and be a nuisance to others . . No smoking inside the chalets which is excellent @
