When you step in the Monarch Hotel, you enter the world of well understood luxury. The hotel is perfectly located just next to the Rosebank Gautrain station (if you leave the station using the Southern Exit, the hotel appears right in front of your eyes). This tasetfully decorated building contains also an indoor patio/garden restaurant that will welcome and give you some rest from the hustle and bustle of this vibrant city. But most of all, what deserves more than a mention is the wonderful staff! They are friendly, welcoming, discreet, helpful and extremely respectful! They are simply a pleasure to be around. Misty Hills Country Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The thatched-roof bungalows are spacious with lovely interior décor and furniture, and are laid out along many winding brick paths in a lush tropical setting with flowers, shrubs, and trees, some with botanical labels on them. Along the paths are many splendid African art carvings, statues, small flowing brooks, ponds, and beautiful scenic views. The grounds have been meticulously planned and laid out, as have the rooms and buildings on the many acres in this resort. Each room, dining area, meeting room, and the reception area are adorned with African art—sculptures, paintings, and historic artefacts/memorabilia, with windows that look out in to the tropical gardens and trees. The service is first class. The accompanying huge breakfast buffet has dozens of choices of fresh fruit, warm and cold meats, special dishes, cheeses, cereals, and pastries, with several people ready to cook any personal preference you may have, as well as table service in the large dining hall with its African motif surrounding you. Of course, the world-renowned Carnivore restaurant is on the Misty Hills grounds and is a real treat for those who enjoy a meal of game in a festive setting with meat delivered to your table on large skewers. There is also a nice dining room with a good lunch and dinner menu adjacent to the reception area. In every way, this hotel is great and a wonderful experience; we’re from Canada and have returned every time we’re in the Johannesburg area.

food definately not great ordered a platter rib and chicken wings for R400 85 percent of the plate was chips, also the ribs were cold and the chips were hot, which makes me believe my orde3r ws standing for awhile, we waited over 1 and a half hours for service. the food was not chef standards at the cost that they were charging. Centurion is a very nice place to visit.

Centurion is a very nice place to visit. Especially if you just want to get aways from your norm and go relax somewhere else. It's a very beautiful town and very safe according to me. It has bolts and ubers everywhere and the mall has every store you might ever think off. It also has a Gautrain station which is huge plus for me. There are also nice places to go and have fun like the Centurion Shisanyama

I loved the guest house, I had booked for 1 night just to check out the place in case the pictures were exaggerating but upon my arrival I had to extend my stay. There is a beautiful garden to unwind and read a book after a long day. It really offers you a home away from home.

I don't know what to say everything was superb,I will advice my friends to book at Emerald Hotel and Casino Resort,I will definitely come back again to stay for a longer period.Thank you very much.

The receptionist and staff are rude and arrogant.

The receptionist and staff are rude and arrogant. They refuse to issue me with a invoice and claim i must get it from Booking.com. I will not even recommend this property to my enemy. It was my worst experience ever with a Guest House. When i arrived to check in the receptionist was in a big argument with other guests about there booking and it was a total screaming match in front of me. Totally unprofessional !!!!!!!

I grew up in Kempton Park and spent time in Benoni.

I grew up in Kempton Park and spent time in Benoni. Well, what a nasty shock coming back to stay at a hotel in Benoni. The Lakeview Mall is shocking, the town is dirty and run down. We stayed at a hotel opposite the Lakeview Mall but we dared not eat anywhere in Benoni, the places looked suspicious. Then on our last night while trying to buy coffee at the Aston Fuel station my Husband was nearly stabbed by some local maniac. He was chased down the road by this individual screaming, 'I'm going to kill you'. So Benoni truly has become a 3rd word country. So sad, it was a beautiful town. Pity that the citizens don't take the streets back.
