Priscilla’s dinner by candlelight was truly unforgettable—one of the best meals we’ve had in ages, beautifully prepared and delicious. For breakfast, we enjoyed fresh strawberries from the garden and a wonderful orange marmalade. My favorite part was the delicate silverware and the charming collection of plates and ceramics, which added so much character.
Priscilla herself was the most wonderful host, making us feel welcome and cared for. We shared such a lovely conversation, and her warmth truly made our stay special. The only thing that could’ve made it better is if we stayed longer. ❤️

Candice met us on arrival, she was the perfect host, warm and friendly and a lovely personality. The lodge was in a lovely garden setting. Our standard rondawel room was clean and comfortable, the shower was good with hot water. Emilia looked after us very well. The breakfast and evening meals were good with plenty of choice and Lorraine and Yomela looked after us, nothing was too much trouble .
Tea and cake was served in the afternoon and the outside fire was lit so you could sit and enjoy a drink before dinner.
We enjoyed a day self driving in Addo elephant park which wasn't far away.

We had amazing stay at Happy Lands. The garden is beautiful, full of trees and flowers and a nice swimming pool. You drive to Addo Elephant Park (main gate) in 30 minutes.
But most importantly: the owners Nita & Mike are sooo sweet! They put in so much love and passion in the B&B. They helped us with the gamedrive and made a delicious breakfast with juice from there own farm. Oh, and ofcourse the dogs!! who make sure you have a warm welcome and lots of cuddles!
We are definitely coming back one day! Would recommend Happy Lands to everyone!

Well done to Archie and his team (Wikus, Ryan, Edwin, Collen) apologies i did not get everyone's names.
Everything :-) . Location superb. Staff well groomed, knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Restaurant offerings are quality and well presented. Gardens are neat and well maintained. Spacious room with indoor outdoor shower including a bath and a plunge pool. Additional lookout areas on the property to enjoy the views.

Breakfast was perfect, room very good - much more than was required for a few hours sleep (we were never going to spend much time in the rooms). Location was good for the purpose.
Ronnie and Hildelene took a personal interest in the well-being of their guests.
The activities (game drives) on offer were exceptional and took all our time. I wish I had known they are offering these, before I booked a full day with 'Get my guide'.

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious apartment, comfortable beds (which have heating!! Important during cold season). Great game drive with very knowledgeable guide Lize - highly recommend! We also requested a little birthday surprise for my friend so they arranged cake, sparkling wine and some flowers that were waiting in the room on our arrival. Very well organized!

The food was mind blowing although it did that a while for the mains to arrive, and as a sign that we will return, our bottle of wine is still left with the waitress. AWAIT US CAMP FIGTREE, WE WILL BE BACK

Barefoot is a reasonable size reserve accessed off a 25km...
Barefoot is a reasonable size reserve accessed off a 25km dirt road that can be a little bumpy in places. A 4x4 is recommended particularly if it rains. We opted for a private transfer to and from the airport and Caleb our driver was just a master at navigating the rough roads - well worth the £180 for the transfer (he also took us on a game drive on a neighbouring reserve close to Addo, organised by Barefoot and he was just incredible, so knowledgable and able to track down the elusive rhino - we would seriously recommend). The Barefoot reserve doesn’t have the big 5 and the 3 Barefoot elephants are cared for by dedicated keepers who spend all their days walking with them as they roam around the reserve. At night the elephants are housed in a very large protected paddock to ensure their safety. You will see giraffe, wilderbeast, zebra as a minimum - they come in herds to graze around the villa of an evening which is an incredible sight. The views from the villa are breathtaking as it sits on its own on a hilltop. There’s good WiFi, no TV (which for us was a good thing), beds were so comfy and the staff - Olivia and Soso just made our stay perfect 🥰

We liked the venue. The environment is beautiful. The road was a challenge, but we knew that we had to come with a 4x4 vehicle and the men knew how to drive on a 4x4 route. It was raining when we arrived and it was cold, but everybody should know not to travel without a jacket.

We have been to Addo probably 40 times and just never get...
We have been to Addo probably 40 times and just never get enough of it, and once again on rare occassions, saw a lioness up close. As always there were plenty of Buffalo, Elephant, Zebra, Red Hardebeest, Warthog, Kudu, and oh! a Hyena!

Addo was lovely, and the map was easy to navigate.
Addo was lovely, and the map was easy to navigate. I could easily do two days in the Addo and it's full of surprises. Make sure to go to the bathroom at the beginning, because toiletbreaks are far inbetween. Make sure your devices are fully charged and you have backup, because you'll be taking a lot of pics. Currently the roadworks to Addo makes it a longer drive, but all goo.
