United KingdomThe staff were incredible - so welcoming, made us feel very much at home. We arrived in a storm and they couldnt do enough to try to settle us in and make sure we were comfortable. The room was warm. The food was amazing with beautiful flavours and staying at the Hives was an absolutely incredible experience that I will always keep with me. There were lots of activities to choose from as well. I cannot recommend highly enough - one of the best parts of our visit to South Africa

Robyn was very welcoming and helpful, with a map of the day trails around Nature’s Valley and info about a couple of places around town to eat.
A very nice place to rest and recover if you’ve been hiking or travelling a while.
Also has Nespresso machine with pods and little mugs ❤️ and a little drying rack if you need to do some handwashing.

She even cooked pasta for us the first night because we forgot about the loadshedding and wanted to make our own dinner. The location is perfect if you want to visit Tsitsikamma National Park. It's quiet and peaceful.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful if they'd tried! If you wanted a model for great service Claire and Megan and the rest of the staff are the examples to follow! Nothing was too much trouble.
They prepared a BBQ for us when my little boy asked for a fire, they facilitated everything we could ask for and more.
This accommodation was a delight to stay at and made exceptional by some of the friendliest and most helpful staff I've met!
We'd highly recommend this stay to everyone!

You can’t find a better location where you can sit having breakfast and watch whales breaching in the ocean and sea otters enjoying their own breakfast. The opposite end of the day night sky is awesome with virtually no light pollution the milky way is right overhead.

The hikes in Tsitsikamma National Park were phenomenal.
The hikes in Tsitsikamma National Park were phenomenal. We loved the bridge hike and the waterfall hike (although it was challenging but our 3 little kids were able to hike it). The beach was nice. The restaurant by the beach was a pleasant experience and reasonably priced.

Natures Valley is very special.
Natures Valley is very special. Most other bays in the area are over developed and commercialised. Natures Valley still captures the time when going to the beach was not all about how magnificent your property was. Lets hope it stays that way.

We only stayed for 1 night and we saw quite a few animals. The animals were moving right in front of our room, we could just sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. Birdlovers will also enjoy the stay, different birdsong were heard.

There was nothing to like about the place,, honestly not as advertised. The outside looks scary, grass is not cut, garden not well taken care of. The WiFi didn’t get to our room. Pillow cases were dirty. No hot water. Sometimes the basin tap doesn’t have running water.

Beautifully picturesque, peaceful, and isolated - Come to 'ERS' if you want to spend all your time on the beach or walking the surrounding short nature paths...
All the other well known Tsitsikamma sights & activities are located +- a 25-45km drive away...and sadly the only way into Eersterivierstrand is a very rough and dusty 7km dirt road... not great if you didn't come in an appropriately rugged vehicle...
Also, be sure to pack literally EVERYTHING you will need for your stay - incl. drinking water / ice / firewood / food and beach gear... buying something you had forgotten means traveling +-17km (to the thrift shop and back) at the N2 turn-off into Eersterivierstrand...

Nature´s Valley is by my opinion the most beautiful place...
Nature´s Valley is by my opinion the most beautiful place along the Garden Route. Quiet, swimming is possible both in The Ocean and in the lagoon. Not crowded at all (like Stormsriver Mouth), with 1 shop and 1 restaurant.

Beautiful and tranquil surroundings. Tsitsikamma Lodge in the forest, stunning accommodation.
Storms River Village a must to visit, lovely restaurants and starting point for outdoor activities . Enjoyed the Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour, the guides were so friendly, had loads of fun!
Marilyn's 60's Diner - lovey restaurant definitely worth a visit.
Don't forget to visit the Wolf Dog Sanctuary
Would love to have spent more time there to explore the hidden gems.

The rooms are spacious and it has stunning views of the sea. Appliances are a bit outdated but it had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend 29@kamma. We were very comfortable. It does not have any tv channels, not even regular SABC channels. Otherwise, we had a lovely stay and I would happily return in future. It has a shop about 10 minutes away, a butchery and garage. It was all close by. The Tsitsikamma National park is an half an hour drive away and the Elephant Sanctuary was an hours drive away in Plettenberg Bay. It was well worth the visit. I traveled all over Europe and Asia but this trip was by far the most remarkable.
