We had a really wonderful stay and a great time at Lekker Gezellig. It is only 10 minutes boat ride to Bunaken. The cottage is clean and comfortable. Any issues were taken care of immediately. We love the quietness of the place with birds singing and animal sounds around. The staff and dive crews are super friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed the days we spent on the boat diving and snorkelling. The food was delicious and the cook can cater to our wishes and the children's preference. We also had a really nice chat with Changli, the owner, who is super attentive and accommodating. At the end of our stay we went on small boats to see the Tarsius family living in the mangrove. Thank you to all the staff for the hospitality. We hope to return again one day :)

If you want to be away from city sounds and pollution, way out in the peace of the countryside among farms and mountain views — and if you are a person who enjoys the ruggedness of tent or A-frame cabin camping, then you will love Wawowow. Alvin has built this off-the-grid retreat himself, adding to it each year. He and his staff are caring and helpful. The well laid out grounds are covered in lawns and most if not all tents and cabins have small brick firepits. Alvin can provide the firewood for them. When I was there a number of people sat around these campfires at night singing and playing guitars. No sound amplification is allowed. Some people chose to stay on the grounds for several days. I used it as a jumping off place each morning to tour different parts of the Tomohon area each day., returning each evening.

The owner and the staff are outstanding. Sharon, the owner, communicated in a timely manner, answering all questions before we arrived, and then helping with arrangements during our stay via WhatsApp. Irra, who is in charge of the house and restaurant staff, was efficient and conscientious and very kind. She took care of all the details and even arranged for me to accompany her on a shopping trip to a huge market in Bitung on a day I was not able to dive. It is one of my trip highlights. Man, who is in charge of overall operations, and the dive experience, could not have been any more helpful. From arranging the details of our transportation, to taking me, after hours, into Bitung to see a doctor for an ear infection (he made the appointment, guided me to it, and stayed with me to help me figure out what was needed), to directing our dives, he always went above and beyond. You can tell that he takes pride in the operation and is very conscientious about making each guest’s stay a good experience. Fiki, our dive guide, was one of the best I have had. He was excellent at finding all those cool Lembeh Strait critters, and I also always felt very safe diving with him as he was always aware of us in the water, and was encouraging and thoughtful to me, a still slightly uncomfortable diver. The food was delicious—lots of local dishes, lots of vegetables and fresh fish. It is served as a buffet in an open area with a stunning view down the hill and to the Strait. There are a lot of steep stairs up to the dining area, but we did not mind them. The guests shared a table for meals which I really liked, as we met so many interesting travelers. The cabins are spacious, with a deck and a fine view, AC that works well, and your own carboy of water, with both hot and cold-water options.

Everything was perfect 🤩 the view on the sea from the bungalow’s is breathtaking (perfect for the sunsets), the hammocks are great to chill while enjoying the view. Staff is super friendly, thank you Liz, Olivia and all the others 🤗, we really felt like home. Food was amazing (vegetarian or not), we really loved it ! Our advice go on all the snorkelling tours you can with Jo, and don’t hesitate to try diving with Sven, it was an amazing experience for a first !

From the moment you pass through the small gap in the mangroves and set foot on the white sandy beach, you are embraced by the warm, welcoming atmosphere created by the owner Marijn, his lovely team of local staff and the two gorgeous dogs, Bug and Mickey. Marijn made the whole experience feel personal and genuine. He’s a true nature lover and it was inspiring to see how enthusiastic he was about the wildlife around the resort. He eagerly pointed out birds, critters and plants during the day and even took time to show us fascinating nocturnal creatures after dark. Sharing meals, great conversations and a few fun evenings playing games together, it honestly felt like staying with friends rather than being guests at a resort.  The traditional wooden bungalows were simple but so very comfortable and well thought out. Perfectly suited to the surrounding nature. The wonderful staff were warm, friendly, kind and attentive, always making sure we felt looked after. And the food deserves special mention too. Every dish was fresh, creative and full of local flavour — a real highlight of our stay.  The snorkelling itself, both on the house reef and by boat, was varied and outstanding. Even though this is a dive resort, they made us feel welcome to join the boat when they were going diving and always made sure there was something for us as well as the divers. The highlight definitely was an encounter with a very friendly dugong! We also enjoyed wandering into the nearby jungle - the island’s tranquility adds so much to the overall experience. Nomad Divers really isn’t your average dive resort. It’s a place that connects you — to nature, to people, and to that simple, genuine sense of belonging that’s increasingly rare to find. After all our years of travel and snorkelling, this stay was truly memorable, and we hope to return one day.

Location - Superb....within 10-40 min boat ride from 20+ amazing dive sights. Resort - absolutely gorgeous and v large well appointed rooms. Food - genuinely top class food. Best Indonesian food in all my trips to Bali, Lombok, Manado etc. Great non-Indo food also like pastas, grills, pizzas, coffee etc. Staff - love them. So kind and nice. Always smiling. And can solve any issues.

Siladen Resort & Spa is an eco-friendly beachfront resort with an outdoor pool, a private beach area and a restaurant overlooking the ocean. This place offers the quality and comfort of five star resort, but is friendly, cozy, quiet and perfectly organized. It was a perfect finding. Located just few minutes boat ride from Bunaken island. It’s most valued treasure is its staff - they make you feel like at home.

Located on the peaceful Bunaken Island with a private beach area, Cha Cha Nature Resort offers cottages and villas with sweeping views of the sea and mountains. Cha Cha is in a perfect location for snorkelling off the beach but we have never stayed in a resort with the most friendly of staff who care so much that you enjoy every aspect of your stay. The food prepared by Agnes is Masterchef quality, she has a real passion and talent. Luna the dog is the best tour guide for low tide exploring and Reiko is so kind and interesting to chat to. I was also touched by how caring the boat driver/dive room man was especially knowing I wasn’t confident in the water he looked out for me. Thank you all at Cha Cha for a fabulous stay - we will be back!
