The hotel is just perfect ; the king-size bed is very comfortable, and the shower is worthy of a place that charges three times the price. Breakfast, included in the rate, is excellent: fresh local seasonal fruits, savory bites, and perfectly cooked eggs. Don’t hesitate to come meet this lovely family, where each member plays a specific role and does so with great care and love. Car taxi service, tuk-tuk rides, and a local guide are also available.

The villa was awesome, it was cleaned every day including the beautiful swimming pool. There are five bedrooms all with aircon, fans, mozzie nets and comfortable beds. Two rooms have ensuites and there are a further two bathrooms all of which are very clean. The staff were lovely, very kind and they couldn't do enough for you, especially Sanjeewa who drove the Tuk Tuk, he went above and beyond to provide everything we needed and also took us anywhere we wanted to go locally. The owner was also extremely helpful in sorting out drivers for any trips we went on and also taking one member of our party to the doctors when she was unwell. Breakfast was included and was huge, so much food. There is a kitchen if you want to make your own food but there is also a menu you can order from for evening meals which is very reasonably priced. The garden is gorgeous and get lots of local wildlife in it, including chipmonks and the odd monkey. All in all the whole experience was brilliant and I highly recommend Sandul villa - we stayed for two weeks,

Built on 9 acres of gardens, AVANI Kalutara Resort (formerly Kani Lanka Resort and Spa) is located by the Kalu Ganga River. It offers an outdoor pool, a luxurious spa and free Wi-Fi. This was my second time at this property. Last time, I stayed in a private pool villa. Since I traveled alone this time, I chose a standard room. The room size is quite small but still suitable for a solo traveler. I encountered an issue 15 minutes after check-in, but it was resolved quickly. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are friendly. I particularly liked my room because it faced the beach. As I mentioned, the issue I had was addressed promptly, and the key person responsible was the very professional Guest Relations Executive, Ms. Tharindi. She is welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive. The main reason I am giving a 10/10 rating is because of her outstanding service and quick resolution of my concern. Every morning, she checks in with guests to ensure their comfort, which I truly appreciate. Having worked in the service industry for the past 12 years, I know how important this level of care is. Ms. Tharindi, you are a valuable asset to this property. Once again, thank you for making my stay at Avani so memorable. I would also like to thank the Front Office Manager, Mr. Jayantha, and the Executive Housekeeper, Mr. Eric, who personally met with me and resolved the issue. Additionally, my gratitude goes to the room attendant who kept my room impeccably clean.
