You can walk to Cathedral Cove from Hahei Beach Resort, follow the beach and connect to the Cathedral Cove walkway (the walk takes about 1 hour each way).

Not all accommodation has a lounge area, sofa, TV. Overall, it was really great. Cute private cabin with clean facilities!

Located on The Esplanade overlooking Tairua Harbour, Paku Lodge Resort offers self-contained accommodation with a private balcony and harbour views. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi, BBQ facilities and free kayak and bicycle rental. Great location, right opposite a toddler friendly beach. Staff was friendly and helpful when we arrived much later than originally planned. There is a common BBQ, laundry possibilities and one can borrow spades for hot water beach.

Many apartments also have stunning ocean views and outdoor furniture. Unbelievably clean and well looked after. Even the smallest things were in place. What a lovely place.

Guests at the resort will be able to enjoy activities in and around Pauanui, like hiking and snorkelling. The location was great. Clean water in the harbor and the fish life was right there. We had the place to ourselves so was great on that front.
