Set on a large country estate with sweeping gardens and panoramic views of the Wairarapa wine-growing region, Parehua Resort features an open-air bar and fine dining restaurant. We loved the pool and hot tub! Very tidy place and private, too. The continental breakfast was impressive and tasty, with no single use plastics! We were very pleased with this place overall.

Avalon, in a tranquil garden setting, offers self-catering cottages with free Wi-Fi and balconies overlooking the valley and the Puketotora River. Quiet location but still very close to the town center. Lovely setting with the lake, ducks, native birds and beautifully kept trees and gardens.

Surrounded by Lake Rotorua, On The Point -Lake Rotorua is a luxury retreat featuring spectacular views to Mokoia Island. Gorgeous, peaceful setting. We spend many hours just sitting in the chairs overlooking the lake. We loved the huge windows in our room also overlooking the lake. The animals (donkeys, sheep, and ponies) make the lace extra special. We had a car but also took Ubers to and from town—a quick 10min ride. The tour companies also know this property Staff was fantastic. Niki worked the breakfasts when we were there and she was wonderful. So friendly and kind, she took excellent care of us. She gave us tips on places to go, always asked how our stay was, and truly cared that we were having a nice stay there.

Situated in the heart of an eco and wilderness park, Treetops Lodge & Estate offers luxurious suites and villas with views of the forest and lakes. This place is phenomenal. The food is great, the staff is so attentive and work so hard to make things personally special for the guests. Plus the property is unreal - so many trails to explore, a beautiful water fall exclusive to the property, I only wish we'd stayed longer!

Situated in the heart of Tongariro National Park, Skotel Alpine Resort offers a restaurant, a hot tub and a terrace bar with a fireplace. Most accommodations boast stunning mountain or region views. We stayed in a cabin and used the facilities for breakfast. The barista coffee at the lodge was very much appreciated. The restaurant and bar were perfect after long days of walking. Comfortable and welcoming and catered for everyone in our group.
