I booked this stay for my wife and daughter while I took my youngest to Europa Park. It was a bit of a gamble because neither had stayed in a spa hotel like this before, so I was a bit worried that they might feel intimidated and not feel able to engage with it to get the full benefit. The welcoming staff are a I think big part of the reason that was a non-issue. The reports back from my wife and daughter were that it could not have been better - the environment, the staff, the food, the room, and facilities including the additional wellness services they purchased - everything was beyond expectation and I thank the staff and the venue for an experience they will remember for a long time!

Right in the centre of Mellau with its shops and restaurants, Hotel Bären features an accommodation. The à la carte restaurant serves Italian-style pizzas and has an adjoining bar.

It is a great hotel, not to big. The room was very spacious with sitting area. They serve a superb breakfast , lots of choice and everything is homemade. In the afternoon homemade pie, and healthy drinks. They have a great sauna witch you can use with relax room. Close to the ski area, only 10 minutes by foot or you can take the ski bus. The view from the hotelraam was fabulous

The breakfast is amazing. Lots of variety, fresh bread, local cheeses, homemade cakes, and much more - and everything is homemade. The staff was also extremely friendly! The furnishing is a little old school, but it all works great anyways.

Just overall high quality everything. Staff were amazingly friendly and food was freshly made and bursting with flavour.

Location on the hillside was great and with a view form our balcony also. We were surprised by a winter weather change at night and everything was covered in snow in the morning (end of March). The rooms are well equipped and isolated and when we arrived way over heated, which stayed for almost 2 days due to the floor heating. The steam and regular sauna on the roof storey were nice and relaxing. the restaurant was great - breakfast and dinner tasted great!
