Scheidegg is a nice quiet cozy town in a beautiful area. The hotel was very comfortable, an oasis of relaxation. Very nice sauna and pool, beautiful garden, very friendly staff and great breakfast.

The hotel is very well maintained almost looks new inside. The room was very clean and nice. TV, Toilet, Shower and WiFi in the room. The breakfast is something special, really nice buffé. Simple system if you want a snack för the evening. Perfect free carparking directly at the hotel. Takes only a few minutes to drive to Lindau Insel. A nice pizzeria is close to the hotel. The personell is friendly and speak English. A very nice velcome from the guy that work at the hotel. I was half an hour early, but he sorted the room within 20 minutes. Perfect.

It was a beautiful building, comfortable and characterful. We loved our room, we had a delightful balcony. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to enjoy it. The food was outstanding, very delicious, and the staff charming and friendly.

I asked for a quiet room away from the traffic/road and had a lovely room with en suite bathroom. It was winter and lots of snow and I was glad to sleep in a comfortable bed. Hotel staff directed me to the only open restaurant in town that Sunday evening and it was truly good and authentic Sicilian Il Cavallino or something like that. The next morning I could resume my long road trip to Berlin by car.

This hotel beside the Waldsee Lake offers a café with lakeside terrace, and spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi. It is surrounded by the beautiful Allgäu countryside.

Great staff and great place to stay while in Lindau. Accessible price with great breakfast. Shower was great, as the restaurant tha has the same name of the hotel. If one day I should return to Lindau Insel, would stay again in Engel!

Alte Post offers charming accommodation in Lindau. The hotel has a sun terrace and views of the town, while the restaurant and beer garden are open every day. Rooms were charmingly renovated in 2017.

The Alte Post is a 300 year old coaching inn. Downstairs the restaurant looks traditional and the food is great! We ate here, outside in the evenings, 3 times during our week's stay - go for the Hawaiian curry chicken :-) . The food is as good as if not better than the food in the main high street restaurants and as it was so hot it was good to be able to eat at our hotel. The breakfast has a choice of eggs cooked specially for you and a buffet style breakfast bar to choose your own meat, cheese, cereals, fruit, yoghurts and bread. The staff were all very friendly and didn't laugh at our attempts to speak German (I'm sure they were laughing inside!). We had a room on the north side of the building on the second floor, which was cool in 30+ degrees. We regretted bringing such heavy cases as there is no elevator - however the staff helped us with them on arrival. There is a little sun terrace on the second floor and we enjoyed reading outside in the evenings with the swifts flying over head. Lindau has everything you need and you can walk around the island's coastline through parks and pathways. Check out the garden pot and statue shop in one of the old railway sheds as you walk past - good thing we were flying home or our car would have ben full! We went by ferry to Konstanz, Mainau Island and Bregenz - all lovely, and if you love gardens, Mainau is a must - the Italian rose garden was in full bloom - heavenly. We also went to Ravensburg and St Gallen by train (trains and buses are free with the Lindau Card - you get this on arrival at your hotel). The whole area is lovely and there are lots of walks and cycle routes around the lake - would definitely have another holiday here.
