The location is fantastic! In the heart of Gion and close walking distance to the main temples/ shines / gardens / cute shopping streets and bars. Four Seasons and Six Senses are both in another part and much more commercial and busy - doesn’t feel as authentic as this hotel’s location.

Accommodations were truly fantastic, the room was tastefully and comfortably furnished, and the location was convenient for getting around town and close to the station, dining options, and shopping. Both the traditional Japanese and Western breakfast options were delicious, filling, and promptly arrived to our door. The staff were accommodating and very kind, we will absolutely stay here again next time we are in Kyoto.

Newly opened in August 2016, Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae offers accommodations with free WiFi. The hotel is directly connected to JR Kyoto Station and a 4-minute walk away.

The hotel is located next to the central train station and a lot of bus connections. You can actually enter the hotel from the station, which can be a life saver in bad weather. It offered the largest variation of amenities I have seen, for example bath salts, hair ties, shaving foam, lotions, ear plugs. The room with 2 single beds is really spacious, no problems having several large trollers in the room.

Lovely experience to stay in Sakura Urushitei. We had Japanese style room and couldn't be happier sleeping in cozy futons and softest blankets in such a beautiful surroundings. Had Japanese breakfast each morning, remember to book breakfast in advance :) Ryokan has own bath which can be booked for private use. Convenient location very near Shijo station and Kawaramachi.

Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor.

The hotel stay was fabulous. Booked it at a very good rate and though the outside didnt look it, the rooms were exceptional. Very comfortable bedding with ample space for 2 large suitcases and 4pax to move about. Fine china ware provided to go with in room organic drip coffee n tea. Location was convenient too! Self collection of toiletries otw to your room after check in if required.

This stay is perfect, I'll say it's definitely the best one in my trip. The interior design is full of Kyoto style and I love the way they offer you the room key!!! They provide a laundry room also and I have a small balcony outside my room. In addition, the room got the biggest size in Japan I've ever seen! Really chill and relax! The environment is quiet and saft, I love walking in the valley in Kyoto!!!

The room is gorgeous and a good hybrid between a western and traditional room. Very spacious for a couple, probably just the right size for a group of 4. The front desk people were really helpful, esp with transportation and booking restaurants. The lobby was adorable and sweet. It was very cosy to come back to this hotel on a rainy day.
