Lovely, welcoming and cosy. The common area in the lobby was a great addition to sit and read, play games, chat etc and they loan foot massage machines and aromatherapy oil burners from here too. Great having the public onsen too.

This was our first ryokan experience and Mozumo has certainly set the standard pretty high for us. We had booked a room with a private onsen. The onsen overlooked the forest and the facilities in the room were also top notch. The food and service by the staff was excellent.

Located in 15-minute bus ride from JR Takayama Station, Guest House & Cafe SOY is surrounded by lush greenery. Free WIFi is provided and free private parking is available on site.

This is a hidden gem! I am traveling in a group of 8. We only managed to book for 1 night since they are fully booked. Kaiseki Dinner and breakfast were sumptuous! Staff were really attentive and friendly. We were warmly welcomed with a tea ceremony. They can converse with us in English so communication was really easy. The Onsen! So gooddd.. We liked the outdoor Onsen by the river in particular. Of course, there were also private and public onsen. Plenty of free parking spaces available.

Breakfast was wonderful (we had Japanese). Kaiseki dinner was equally good. We upgraded the dinner on the second night, and to be honest, the upgrade was not worth the cost.
