My stay was a thoroughly luxurious, relaxing experience. From the carefully curated interior that was calm, comforting and beautiful, to the wonderful staff and the exceptional meal (dinner and breakfast), which included local specialties prepared with love and care, everything was curated and deliberately chosen. I loved taking a bath in the private onsen in my room, being able to open the sliding doors to the forest just outside the room, where I was completely immersed in nature. The staff took care of all my needs and i felt completely at ease and could reset myself completely. a lovely Yukatan completed the experience.

Tai is super friendly to every guest. He was always willing to carry us from the train station which was very helpful for us. Also, his family is gorgeous. Every morning we were enjoying the hand made food from his mom. Besides, you can meet new friends all around the world here. In conclusion, this palce is definitely worth to stay.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station.

We were upgraded to a room with a private onsen attached, which was greatly appreciated! The room was very comfortable and the food was excellent. The location was really convenient for visiting Shinhotaka Ropeway.
