Baan Jaru is the ideal combination of everything needed for a hotel. It is convenient and close to downtown and the markets, and it is quiet enough as the rooms have double pane glass and are in the back of the property. One of the biggest pluses is that they offer a FREE breakfast which is delicious and substantial. I don't know of any other property on Booking.com that gives a free breakfast. But the biggest reason to stay at Baan Jaru is it is a family-run business and the son, Toddy, studied in the UK for many years so he speaks fluent English, is very knowledgeable about the local areas and tourist spots in Chiang Rai, and knows what true guest services should be like. He is the main reason that they are so successful. Their prices are very reasonable and they don't change their room prices in the off or on-season because they have a high-quality product/service. I very highly recommend staying at the Baan Jaru if you visit Chiang Rai. I was 110% satisfied with my stay at Baan Jaru!

10/10 for the hospitality from the hotel owner. There’s only 7 rooms in total. Each room comes with a simple kitchen, shower and a balcony for you to enjoy the lake view. The owner is an animal lover! He has 7-8 dogs, 2 cats and some birds. Breakfast was really good and only charging 60THB.

AMAZING! :) If you go to Chiang Rai you must stay in Homey Dormy. Our room was very big and nice, (2 AC). Also room was clean which is important. The breakfast is excellent, "resort" nicely decorated. I would like to praise the kindness of the owner. You can borrow a bike (ask for a lock at the reception), as well as the pump if the tire is empty. The next very good experience is that they called B-RIDER (rent a scooter) at the reception, and they brought the scooter in 20 minutes. In the evening until 18:00 they also come to the hotel to take it back. We drove all day for 500BTH, we probably could have gotten cheaper, but for all the comfort and good experience, it wouldn't be worth looking around the city for other options :) So I can only warmly recommend this accommodation!

This hotel is just wonderful. Everything perfect, clean and wonderful staff from the beggining to the end. Special thought to the team of Favola who was wonderful with us. Excellent breakfast with all what you need from western or Thai breakfast. I strongly recommend. It is 10/10.

What a beautiful job the owners have done with this place - a slice of paradise in Chiang Rai! The garden and pool area isn’t actually so big but they are perfectly landscaped and so delightful to spend time in! The owners are friendly, and if you like cats you will be very happy here. Our room was spacious and had everything that we needed.

What a fantastic place and the decor in the rooms and common areas really did have a royalty look and feel, plus really friendly/helpful staff. It was only a short walk to some good restaurants, bars and the Night Bazaar. Walking Street was also only a short walk away, although it is only open on Saturday nights.

Very good location. Big parking area in front of the entrance. Welcoming employees. Our room was spacy; bath had a good shower. Also pool was great. Breakfast had a rich choice for every taste.
