Excellent breakfast, got to choose from cooked or continental. Wife chose continental, I chose cooked, enough food to feed a small army showed up. Loads of fruit, juice, great sourdough, eggs, sausages, you name it. Also, the loft room has a stunning view over the valley and a jacuzzi, along with a spare room for all your gear while you stay. Even though we showed up late, the host was gracious and welcoming. Ample parking on site as well.

It is even more homely , with beautiful decor , antiques , lovely fabrics , all in Victorian / Edwardian theme. Evelyn and her husband were so welcoming and she recommended all the walks and view points in the Blue Mountains area nearby. Evelyn is the editor of the Blue Mountains tourist guide so her knowledge, history , & advice was invaluable for our stay. We loved our 2 day break here. Next time we will book the bedroom we stayed in 30 yrs ago (it had a four poster bed but think it was booked up ) to reminisce. Our bedroom we had this time was cosy and comfy. Breakfast great too. Highly recommend this guest house , will return.

What a wonderful surprise the Palais Royale turned out to be. Elegant and timeless with character and a welcoming vibe. We would stay here again if we return.

Free WiFi is available at the High Mountains Motor Inn in Blackheath. All rooms feature an en suite bathroom, air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Staff were great, helped with site seeing and gave recommendations on resteraunts etc.
