Everyone has their own cabin with fire place should you need to warm up. There’s a long walk you can do through the jungle from the hotel which was really nice. The staff were really helpful when it came to getting taxis around, but a lot easier here to have a car.

I felt like Alice in Wonderland the whole time. It's the baby of a CR artist who bought the land in the 80s. His artist friends all wanted to come and visit, so he had to make more room. All by himself and his friends. And then more artists from all over came, helped with the build and left their mark everywhere- murals, sculpures, whatever. And I have this from the horse's mouth, as we had the privilege to meet both the owner and his grandson in person. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall back then...And the drive up there is amazing as well. This place is mindblowing.

Located only 8 minutes’ drive from the Juan Santamaria International Airport, this executive hotel offers free Wi-Fi access throughout and sun terraces around the outdoor pool. Perfect for a short stay to or from airport. Staff was so kind, airport pick up worked perfectly, pool was right outside our door and breakfast was great. Best pancakes ever! And sweet cats to greet us. We stayed 1 night only.

The lodge is very unique. The rooms are in traditional styled huts. Each hut has about 6 rooms inside, and the rooms are decorated with indigenous artwork. Each room has its own seating outside. The grounds are beautiful and very interesting to explore, set amidst an archeological site. The restaurant serves delicious food and has lovely open views. The on-site infinity pool is stunning. The lodge is next to a rainforest nature reserve with a river and hanging bridges. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Located on the edge of a protected cloud forest, Poas Volcano Lodge offers stunning views of Poas Volcano. This boutique hotel features a bar-restaurant, lush gardens and stylish rooms with free... A verry nice place. The room cosy and comfortable. Everything clean. We enjoyed both the dinner and breakfast.

Offering views of the Central Valley, Hotel Montecampana is located in Santa Barbara. Surrounded by attractive gardens, it features an outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant. Pool slices are not safe for kids. No towels, beds are very uncomfortable. It's a nice area but not AC. Super hot at daytime and cold at night again, no blankets. We didn't even have windows to open, only a very noisy fan. Did not advise me not to stay underneath the bar with my 4 year old. He was awake until 11 pm, that's when the music went down
