Located on top of Kaunispää Fell, Star Arctic Hotel & Activities is situated in Saariselka in the Finnish Lapland Region. The room was structured perfectly for our family of 3 and contained everything we needed, even a sauna. The breakfast was out of this world good and dinner was like eating at a 5 star restaurant, we couldn't get enough. The location is perfect as it sits on top of the ski slopes overlooking the city.

Offering a private sauna, Villas Karhunpesä is located in Saariselka in the Lapland Region. Ivalo is 26 km away. Free private parking is available on site. We stayed in Villa Asta. As a couple it was extremely spacious and well equipped. We loved the sauna and the easy access to the back deck so we could do cheeky snow baths in between sauna sessions. The Villa is situated in a forest area away from town. While there are other cabins nearby it felt quite private and quiet. We didn’t have a car but we found it quite okay; It’s about 30 min walk into town to get groceries, which we didn’t mind because there are plowed, well lit and well signposted walking paths all the way into town through the beautiful forest. There is also a cafe (Laanilan Savottakahvila) about 10-15 min walk into the opposite direction, which again was easy to walk to. You can also catch the ski bus from this cafe. We found the Villa to be warm and cozy. And we loved the large windows that look out into the winter forest.

Located next to Urho Kekkonen Natural Park in Kakslauttanen, Polar Aurora Cabins offers self-catering apartments with sauna housed in log cabins. Free WiFi is available. Our host Mike, is a wonderful person. He was polite and friendly. The night we reached he took us on a spontaneous Aurora hunt, since the next two days were cloudy and sunny. We didnt manage to see the northern lights but we had good company and he put in real efforts to drive us for 5 hours straight to find one. Thank you Mike. We will see you again.

This hotel is located along the Ivalo River in Ivalo town centre. It offers three buildings for accommodation, free parking and sauna access. We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The breakfast was varied and plentiful, making for a great start to the day. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a nice touch — tea and coffee provided, perfect for a relaxing break. The bathroom has it own sauna. Nice buffet breakfast.

The glass igloo was cozy and comfortable, and the highlight of our stay was watching the beautiful aurora right from our bed on both nights. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. Our package included breakfast and dinner, which was a great bonus. While the dinner menu had limited options, the food was tasty. They had separate nordic and asian menus. We also did a snowmobile tour through the resort’s activity group, and it was a fantastic experience. Overall it was amazing stay.

The peaceful Lapland Hotel Riekonlinna is 500 metres from Saariselkä village, right next to Urho Kekkonen National Park. Guests can enjoy free sauna admission and access to excellent skiing. The staff were fantastic and they made our dog so welcome 🐾🐶💙 Can’t thank them enough 🙏🏼

Situated in the nature of Finnish Lapland, this hotel is close to Saariselkä’s top skiing and hiking trails. Excellent choice breakfast. Rooms spotless. Reception staff very helpful

This peaceful hotel is situated next to Urho Kekkonen National Park, less than 30 minutes’ drive from Ivalo Airport. Guests enjoy free sauna facilities and access to cross-country skiing tracks. Nice hotel with an excellent sauna. Staff were very kind to let me store & charge my e-Mtb bike inside.
