Located in front of Place de Jaude and 500 metres from the cathedral, this 24-hour reception hotel offers a bar, a terrace and air-conditioned rooms with a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast spread was more than expectation. The entire staff was very supportive. The food at the Coffee Shop was also excellent, I took some avocado toast.

Beautiful, grand old hotel in the heart of Mont-Dore, perfectly located for walking around downtown. The breakfast was outstanding—eggs, pastries, hot oats, and more (French eggs really are superior!). Our room was lovely, with a full bed and a twin, ideal since I tend to twitch at night. Just note there’s no lift/elevator, which may matter for some travelers.

Situated in Le Puy en Velay, 300 metres from Pierre Cardinal Center and 100 metres from Le Puy Cathedral, La Demeure du Lac de Fugeres features city views and free WiFi. Most helpful owner who went out of his way to assist us. An establishment with a lot of history and character. Very conveniently situated. Loved it!

Offering a terrace and ski storage space, Logis Hôtel de Paris is set in Murol, 2.1 km from Lake Chambon and 6 km from Saint-Nectaire. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. I felt like I met the mayor and mayoress of Murol! Incredible stay, lots of positives from the room to the food to the location, perhaps it was the attention to detail and support for our bike/run adventures. Great stay - highly recommend!

Lovely rural location. The donkeys, goats, chickens and cat were a win with the kids! Charming old property, and Serge and the team were fabulous hosts. Having an evening meal prepared with home made plum aperitif was very welcome after a 9 hour journey. The two storey room was ideal for our family of four, and home made cakes for breakfast were yummy. We were sad to arrive too late to use the swimming pool and spa, but we had such a long day travelling from the South of France it couldn’t be helped. Would love to return if we were passing again.

From the moment we entered the village and arrived at the Villa, it was magical and spectacular. The views, the beautiful room and the comfortable bed gave us a great start to our trip. I would definitely revisit. Everything was lovely!
