Located in front of Place de Jaude and 500 metres from the cathedral, this 24-hour reception hotel offers a bar, a terrace and air-conditioned rooms with a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast spread was more than expectation. The entire staff was very supportive. The food at the Coffee Shop was also excellent, I took some avocado toast.

Beautiful, grand old hotel in the heart of Mont-Dore, perfectly located for walking around downtown. The breakfast was outstanding—eggs, pastries, hot oats, and more (French eggs really are superior!). Our room was lovely, with a full bed and a twin, ideal since I tend to twitch at night. Just note there’s no lift/elevator, which may matter for some travelers.

It was a pleasure to stay in a place that is a result of such a detailed renovation work. I can imagine hard work that was put here. Everything was 10/10. Room, owners, breakfast, and all. Ideally located in a private cul-de-sac in the city centre, Couleurs du Sud features an outdoor pool and sun terrace. Immediate walking distance to restaurants, glaciers and shops. It looks like a little tropical Balinese oasis once you get inside. Beautiful, private, with fragrant jasmine draping the entries. Also Marie was totally nice and helpful to us. (We had early tickets to Grotte Chauvet 2 for the next morning, but it would be a market day, so she advised us where to move our car so we wouldn't be blocked in by the market.) She also gave us good advice about taking the scenic drive along the Ardeche Gorge to our next destination.... she made dinner reservations for us... Also the town itself is a beautiful medieval little place; I wish we could have stayed longer to explore. Also, easy on-site parking.

Situated in Le Puy en Velay, 300 metres from Pierre Cardinal Center and 100 metres from Le Puy Cathedral, La Demeure du Lac de Fugeres features city views and free WiFi. It was in a great location. The owner was charming and very knowledgeable about the area.

The place was lovely and they couldn’t have been more helpful, room was bright and airy and the communal area warm with a wood burner in the evening. Breakfast was perfect bread, with lots of meats and cheese. Cereal and yogurt as well but only had the yogurt, coffee machine so it was on tap and you could drink as much as you liked. They even had a fridge with beer in and you wrote down what you had.

Offering a terrace and ski storage space, Logis Hôtel de Paris is set in Murol, 2.1 km from Lake Chambon and 6 km from Saint-Nectaire. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. I felt like I met the mayor and mayoress of Murol! Incredible stay, lots of positives from the room to the food to the location, perhaps it was the attention to detail and support for our bike/run adventures. Great stay - highly recommend!
